Through the different stages of my life, I have visioned learning differently. As a kid, it was a natural, subconscious process of acquiring new knowledge. As I progressed, I viewed learning as an active process, with purpose and goals, and later I associated it with my future success. As I grew older, approaching adulthood, I realized that learning would not always favor you, but it would also cause you pain, harm, and leave you in despair. My discovery of learning has been a roller-coaster ride as I have unfolded the dark and bright sides of it and I live with no regrets as I enjoyed learning, whether it favors me or not. I learned from my highs and lows and I think that makes learning valuable. Nowadays, I do not look at learning as a student, but rather I see it in the eyes of a future educator. I always wonder how my students would learn from me. I would always wish them to realize the significance of learning in their life as much as I did and encourage a never-ending love for learning. As an educator, I understood my role in positing an optimistic view of learning among my students. However, there are times that I feel afraid and I doubt myself on how I would manage my students and create an enjoyable and meaningful learning experience. I do not want to stick to the traditional teacher-centered approach because this is not what I envision myself as a teacher. I learned from years of experience that students learn best when they feel comfortable and their thoughts and feelings validated inside the classroom, therefore I would like to make my class inclusive and conducive to learning as well. Teaching is a huge responsibility and I was well aware of it long before I chose to pursue this path. I do not want to compromise the learning experience of my students because that is not just a job for me, but rather I am doing it based on my personal testaments. I have experienced learning amazingly and I want to share that experience as a teacher and that is something that makes teaching meaningful, at least, for me. To be able to make them realize the essence of learning in every step of their way, just as I have come across it, is the real significance of my role as a teacher. All the way here, as I have realized the importance of learning, I understood that significant actions and results are brought by a productive learning process. These results are what I wish my students would gain from learning and realizing its value. I want them to be knowledgeable about at least a bit of everything. In being aware of things comes the care to address issues that come with them or take advantage of their potentialities for the improvement of life. I want my students to live their life to the fullest and contribute something nice to the world, or at least the community they are interacting with. Through learning, I would like to encourage their critical and logical thinking abilities that will be functional for them as they step out of the real world, regardless of the career they will take on. Although I would be teaching English subjects, I would love to see my students excel in other areas of their academic life besides my subject matter as well.In five to ten years after I handled them, I want to meet them as people who amaze others because of their wisdom, their capability to make a dent to the world through the knowledge they have, and somebodies who wow everyone with their incredible wholeness as they have perfected the integration of learning in their lives. I know there would not be an easy way to achieve these expectations or should I say, goals for them but as a teacher, I would gladly tire myself to assist them in attaining the desired results I am mentioning when it comes to learning. As for the methods and pedagogies I would incorporate in my teaching plan, I would set activities that will revolve in encouraging their self-esteem and confidence in speaking their thoughts, improve their critical thinking and their overall intellectual quotient, and as well as promote their emotional growth. I would plan activities that will provide them with an enjoyable learning experience while honing the overall holistic aspect of their lives. After all, the goal of learning is to realize its value and how they can use it for their betterment. These aspirations and hopes I have for my students are shaped by my own experience along my journey to becoming an educator. I have greatly understood how things work and I realized that the teaching approaches I encountered are different from each professor. I have known about teaching philosophy that works best and not, based on my opinion and experience. In my case, I have really lived on the idea of pragmatism, existentialism, progressivism, behaviorism, and constructivism and I want to incorporate the mechanisms and ideas of these philosophies in my future classes. Definitely I have to adjust my approach to the nature and background of my students, hence I am aiming to cater to all their individual strengths and weaknesses to really put up an effective inclusive classroom however, I would like to consider these philosophies that I can attest to as effective and aligned on my goals as a teacher. Beginning from my attitude towards my students, to the kind of classroom environment I would create, to my strategies in approaching them to learning, to how I manage the class will be heavily influenced by my vision for a classroom that facilitates positive outlook in learning that will later on results in the overall development of my students, not just intellectually but also morally and emotionally.Meanwhile, I have greatly acknowledged that all these things I am dreaming of and envision for my students will only partake if I facilitate them excellently. As much as I aspire my students to achieve specific objectives, I too, have my own sets of expectations and goals for myself as a teacher. After all, I could not give what I do not have and I could not lead if I could not manifest the actions and discipline expected. I have to live my teaching philosophies inside and outside the teaching institution because I believe what I am outside my profession reflects who I would become as an educator. Through understanding from the point of view of a student as I have become one, I would use my collective knowledge and experience to assess, plan, and execute my own educational program effectively, following the principles I have set for myself and my students. I would always go back to why I have started this in the first place and keep track of the progress of achieving my goals in my educational milestone. As an educator, I would always find ways to improve myself as much as I want the best for my students because I have always believed that an excellent teacher would chase excellence among her students and eventually, definitely success will follow.
"Learning should not feel like a responsibility."In today’s society, the definition of learning has drastically changed, along with the absurd expectations that our society has brought upon our students. When I was a child, learning was something that I looked forward to the most; the thrill of learning new things, interacting with my classmates and teachers, and sharing trivial knowledge with them as we spent our day learning about nouns and pronouns; how to use verbs and adjectives on a sentence; about the different clouds that we see in the sky every time the weather changes; the different heroes that saved our country from the Spaniard’s 300 year-long occupation in the Philippines; and how to do long division. For my little head that was filled with child-like innocence, learning was an activity that I enjoyed because it was fun and I got to know something new that I could share with my parents on the dinner table after a very long day at school. However, how many of us still view learning like this, and not as something that just feels like a responsibility – something that we do just to pass our subjects? As an adult who is still at school, I find myself resonating with this kind of sentiment most days when I feel extra exhausted over my academic responsibilities. I wonder to myself; how much of these topics, terms, and definitions am I going to retain and use in the future when I am already working in my chosen field, and how much of this knowledge just stays with me long enough so that I can answer my exams? It is crazy how vastly different we view learning as we grow up, and who do we blame exactly for this but the skewed educational system that we have today? Of the taxing academic loads and expectations that we are to fill just to attain a diploma? And so, as a future educator, I want learning to be something that me and my students both enjoy to experience. Moreover, I want learning not to be restricted in a way that we not only focus on the traditional subjects that we have–English, Filipino, History, Math, and Science–but also go beyond the discussions within the confines of our classroom; I want my students to also talk about what happens in their surrounding; be able to partake in talks about social and economic crises, controversial political discussions, social and economic issues, and talks about climate change. I want learning to be a fun experience that motivates my students to be educated and proactive members of our society. The only way we can attain this concept of learning is by being diverse in terms of our pedagogical approaches; as teachers and facilitators of learning, we are going to be encountering students who are very different from one another when it comes to learning styles, and so, teachers should be flexible and innovative in the sense that we could bring more color to our classrooms by bringing in interactive activities that could stimulate their critical thinking skills and tickle their creative minds. I want learning inside of the classroom to be a two-way process wherein the knowledge does not come from the teacher only, but there is an exchange of information between the teacher and the student, as well as between student to student. In this way, not only are we diminishing the cage of stagnation, but we are also learning something about our students by listening to their different views and opinions; bridging the gap between social differences and disparities. For me, teaching is a commitment and a calling that transforms lives; yours and the people that you teach. As an educator, we are expected to transfer knowledge to our students; knowledge that will help them navigate their individual paths as efficiently as possible. Facilitating the classroom and guiding students is not an easy task; every single day, we are tasked to prepare our lesson plans, and we are expected to know every bit and piece of information there is about our subject matter so that we can transfer the accurate information to our students and answer to their every inquiry. This profession not only teaches us how to develop our pedagogical approaches but also develops our compassion and drive to continue to work harder. Now and then, we hear almost every teacher that we encounter say that being a teacher and teaching is a calling that they gladly accept and answer. And even as a student teacher, I can attest to this statement; I recognize that teaching is not just all about standing in front of the classroom and giving your students a discussion, but rather, also acknowledging the unfortunate circumstances that the lack of education brings to some parts of my community, and as a future educator, I want to extend my services beyond the confines of our classrooms and bring education to the less fortunate by providing educational programs that could allow our out-of-school youth to learn the basics and hopefully, they can use this to their advantage and be able to seek an opening for success. After all, education is the very root of what makes us move in this universe; it helps us be educated about the current events of our society, and it opens endless possibilities for innovation and development. Furthermore, our guidance and assistance play a major and critical role in honing the present and future generations that will lead our world; for the better or for worse. And so, as the youth’s second parents at school, it is our responsibility to facilitate their growth; what they absorb, and what they apply to the real world. Thus, it is important that aside from providing our students with accurate information, we also make it a mission to filter out negative influences that could affect their character and values; it is true that discipline starts at home, but it is the school where the youth starts to develop a sense of independence – this is where they form their own opinions, make their own decisions, and create their own image. And so, to change other people’s lives for the better, effort should be put into work.I grew up in a generation wherein mistakes and errors are prohibited from being committed; people around me demand and constantly opt for nothing but perfection – or at least, the very close scenario to perfection. Although never expressed verbally or openly, my household never accepts anything below perfect and I got used to that. And so, it was such a let-down when I couldn’t fulfill it at all times; my teachers openly expressed their distaste for a certain work, and emphasized their favoritism over another. As a child who is growing into her passion and interests, this greatly affected my confidence and ethics towards pursuing something that I enjoy; I started not wanting to do great on my essays because I knew someone else would be better at it than me, I stopped attempting to raise my hand during recitations because I know I will most likely get made fun off for not being eloquent enough, and my curiosity and yearning to experience something new diminishes because – “What if it is not meant for me after all?” These factors are the kind of problems that I want to battle out in my classroom; I want my students to be comfortable, and I want them to feel seen; to feel validated. According to numerous studies, giving your students words of affirmation and integrating positive reinforcement in the classroom, increases the productivity and competency of students; it gives them a boost of motivation to do well and participate because their efforts are constantly acknowledged. As a facilitator of learning, the only thing I expect my students to do and attain within the four corners of my classroom, is to pursue and hone their own skills and passion; they want to do well in art? Let me provide them with some activities that could stimulate their creative juices; they are more inclined with kinesthetic activities than with just monotonous reading of a passage? No problem, we can integrate that into storytelling as to make it more interactive – let us do roleplays, musical plays, and word recognition games! There are endless options and strategies to employ inside of an inclusive and interactive learning space, but at the end of the day, the only thing that I want my students to attain and retain are individual skills that would help them be better at their craft; to be able to pursue the future that they really want for themselves. Thus, I only hope to make my classroom as comfortable as possible for flexible learning. In order to effectively implement my liberalist teaching philosophy in the classroom, a key determinant lies in developing a profound understanding of my students that transcends surface-level knowledge. This philosophy, at its core, revolves around guiding students to recognize their inherent potential, refine their skills, and equip them for the complexities of the real world. Simultaneously, it emphasizes preparing them to actively engage in global dialogues. To achieve this, it becomes imperative to delve into the factors motivating their learning, allowing me to tailor my pedagogy to meet their diverse needs and interests. Identifying the sources of their passion and drive becomes a cornerstone in fostering an environment that nurtures their individual growth. As a liberalist teacher, my primary objective is to infuse the concept of freedom into the learning space. Rather than imposing my values or opinions, I aspire to empower students to think independently and formulate their perspectives. In this role, my purpose is to stimulate their thoughts, present challenges that enhance their critical thinking abilities, encourage them to question their moral compass, and facilitate the connections between textbook knowledge and its global implications. Additionally, a fundamental trait I aim to instill in my students is integrity. Beyond the confines of academic honesty, I aspire for them to embrace ethical principles and make decisions with honesty and uprightness. This commitment to integrity extends to their participation in various circumstances and their contribution as responsible members of society. Furthermore, as a liberalist teacher, my commitment to inclusivity transcends social differences and disparities. I aspire to create an inclusive classroom where no student feels marginalized or overlooked. Recognizing my duty as an educator, I aim to consider each individual, irrespective of their traditions or religious views, ensuring that every student is an integral part of the learning environment. This inclusive approach aligns with the broader goal of fostering a sense of belonging and preventing any student from experiencing the isolating sensation of being left behind.Reflecting on my own childhood, one vivid aspect that fueled my disdain for school and undermined my motivation to learn was the harsh feedback and insensitive comments I received from certain teachers whenever I made mistakes or fell short of their expectations. These experiences left a lasting impact and have significantly shaped my perspective on education. Now, as I contemplate my future role as an educator, I am steadfast in my commitment to ensuring that my students never endure the same demoralizing experiences that I did. In envisioning my role as a future educator, I have set a singular goal: to make it my personal mission to empower and uplift my students. I aspire to be the catalyst that propels them towards confidence in their abilities and provides unwavering support for their chosen paths. Recognizing that teachers are not merely conveyors of knowledge but also akin to second parents for the children in their classrooms, I understand the profound influence I can wield in shaping not only their academic acumen but also their characters. As educators, we bear the responsibility not only to equip our students with the essential knowledge needed to navigate life's challenges but also to guide them and mold their characters into successful, compassionate, and diligent individuals. Beyond the curriculum, I am committed to fostering an environment where my students feel encouraged to explore their unique talents and pursue their passions. By instilling confidence and providing support, I hope to create a classroom atmosphere that nurtures both academic growth and personal development. In essence, my future role as an educator extends far beyond the dissemination of information; it encompasses the vital task of fostering an environment where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to become the best versions of themselves. By embracing this holistic approach to education, I aim to break the cycle of demotivation that I experienced and contribute to the positive growth and development of each student under my guidance.
In my early years, I thought that I was different and kind of special - a cut above the rest. This is a sentiment instilled by the voices of those people in my life who praised me for my academic achievements. However, astime passes, I came to the realize that my perceived brilliance might just have been a product of a childhood innocence — leading to a sense of disappointment and frustration, as I held those around me responsible for giving me a false sense of accomplishment and for shaping me into a student whose sole pursuit was to memorize. It wasn't until the final year when I joined an organization that gave me a break from the restrictions of the classroom. All of a sudden, I was discovering a big world ahead of me with opportunities to learn through experiences and grow personally. In the midst of this transformative experience, I realized that genuine learning extends far beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. It is not enough to sit up front; tell the teacher how much you 'enjoyed' the lecture; turn in neat, typed papers written according to a formula; and memorize, memorize, memorize! The rigid structure of lectures and exams and the mantra of memorization, proved to be just a fraction of what true learning encapsulates. Learning requires a continuous thirst for discovery, an openness to new ideas, and a willingness to step outside the comfort zones of conventional learning. In fact, learning must considered as a compound interest, where knowledge accumulates and builds upon itself over time. It is not a one-time venture but a commitment to a lifelong process of acquiring, refining, and applying knowledge. Just as compound interest grows exponentially, so does our understanding of the world and ourselves when we consider learning as an continuous pursuit. More so, learning is a product of behaviors shaped by consequences. Positive outcomes reinforce certain behaviors, making them more likely to be repeated, while unpleasant consequences discourage repetition. This aspect of learning compels individuals to reflect on their actions, assess the consequences, and adapt their behavior accordingly. In this way, learning becomes a more holistic combination of experience, reflection, and improvement. Furthermore, learning, at its core, is also synonymous with having grit and resilience: the ability to persevere through challenges and setbacks is not only a testament to one's character but a fundamental aspect of the learning process. Grit is the driving force that propels us to move forward when faced with difficulties and pushes us to confront obstacles head-on rather than succumbing onto them. Resilience, on the other hand, is the capacity to bounce back from setbacks and accept them as integral parts of growth. Thus, learning involves a conscious acknowledgment of mistakes and failures as indispensable elements of growth - embracing the idea that each misstep we took is an opportunity to correct, modify, and improve oneself. Learning, therefore, is a process characterized by grit, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth. It extends far beyond the confines of traditional education, challenging individuals to embrace mistakes, engage with the world firsthand, and view the process as a lifelong commitment akin to compound interest.Meanwhile, same with learning, teaching is a multifaceted role that extends beyond the mere transmission of information: it is the art of igniting the flame of curiosity and fostering a love for learning in students — inspiring them to reach their full potential. It is not confined within the four-walls of a classroom, rather it is about creating an environment where students are encouraged to question, explore, and discover connections between their learning and the world around them. Teaching is about nurturing a growth mindset, where mistakes are seen as opportunities for learning, and challenges are embraced as pathways to growth. However, it is also important to note that teaching involves not only these matters but also about cultivating of skills, values, and attitudes that empower students to become lifelong learners and good, responsible global citizens. As a teacher-in-the-making, my role should strive to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to explore new ideas, challenge conventional wisdom, and embrace mistakes as essential parts of the learning process. My responsibility should extends to guiding students in navigating the complexities of reality while fostering a deep understanding of themselves and others. Furthermore, establishing expectations that are both ambitious and feasible can be fundamental strategy for fostering grit and resilience in students. This is a crucial aspect of teaching which we often overlooked in our practices, but plays a significant role in shaping the mindset and perseverance of students. When we present challenges that push students to their limits, while still offering the necessary support they need for them to reach their goals, a profound sense of determination and steadfastness is
instilled within them. This is a mindset that we must foster in our students, to arm them with confidence they need not only in navigating their academic paths but also prepares them to confront the challenges that life presents in general. In essence, effective teaching goes beyond the curriculum; it shapes the mindset and character of individuals, preparing them not only for academic success but also for a lifetime of learning, growth, and resilience in the face of adversity. It is a noble and transformative journey that if we, teachers, undertake with dedication and passion, has the power to shape the future of generations to come.Considering these, how can we foster an environment that promotes lifelong learning, resilience and grit? How can we prepare students in navigating the challenges of the real world? In order to attain the goals of creating an emprowered learner, it is essential to implement a diverse set of activities, outputs, projects, and tasks. As English educators, we need to see the English classroom not only as a space for literary exploration but also as a space for instilling resilience, grit, and a lifelong passion for learning. For instance, when students are learning a classic novel, story, poem, or sonnets, rather than opting for the conventional approach of analysis, we can assigned them the task of creating their own. This would not only tests their understanding of literature but also pushes the boundaries of their vocabulary and grammatical proficiency. While doing so, the provision of guidance and support is important. These may come in the form of peer reviews and one-on-one discussions, acting as platforms for constructive feedback. Students can also curate collection of their works, along with reflective narratives on their writing journey. Through integrating both of these, students can set and revisit their goals, creating a sense of purpose and determination. This integration empowers students to witness their progress from inexperienced writers to becoming the authors of their own narratives. We can also select literature of authors from different cultures and tradtions, not only to enrich their learning experience but also to expose them to different perspective and experiences that can challenge their preconceived notions. More so, integrating activities that involve public speaking, such as book presentations, debates, or poetry recitations can help them in overcoming the fear of public speaking. As they grapple with these challenges, confidence emerges — confidence that is built through grit and resiliency while facing such difficulties. After learning these concepts within the classroom, the next step involves applying this newfound knowledge in practical situation. I will engage them with project-based learing wherein they can address social issues while integrating what they have learned. For example, students can write persuasive essays, letters to public officials, or create awareness campaigns related to social issues they are passionate about to apply their language arts skills to real-world contexts and make a positive impact in their communities. At the end of semester, they will also be tasked to work on a project or program that involves researching or creating presentations that tackles a social issue depicted in a novel or play. This will allow students to explore connections between literature and real-world issues while developing their research, writing, and presentation skills. Through this, students are not only encouraged to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application but also to become active contributors to social discourse. With these strategies in place, one of the expectations I have for my students is their active engagement in the learning process. This involves participating in class discussions, collaborating with peers, asking questions, and demonstrating a genuine curiosity for the subject matter. I want my students to take ownership of their learning and develop a sense of responsibility over their academic progress. Furthermore, critical thinking should be a fundamental expectation for my students — encouraging them to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information to have a deeper understanding of the material presented to them. It also equips them with essential skills for problem-solving and decision-making, which is very important in today's era. By setting the expectation for critical thinking, my students will be empowered to approach challenges with confidence and creativity, which they can use in both their academic and personal lives. In addition to active engagement and critical thinking, I also want to emphasize collaboration and communication skills as essential skills that my students must foster. Whenever there are group works, peer discussions, and presentations, I expect my students to work effectively with others, express their ideas clearly, and actively listen to others perspectives. By nurturing these skills, they are preparing themselves to become effective communicators and team players which are essential qualities for success in the 21st-century workforce. More so, social and emotional goals are equally important as others. It includes fostering positive relationships, promoting empathy and respect, and creating a supportive and inclusive community. My students should learn to embrace diversity, consider multiple perspectives, and engage with global issues with a sense of social responsibility and compassion. Furthermore, a basic expectation that we must instill to our students is letting them establish meaningful goals. These goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). Whether these goals revolve around improving their language skills, mastering specific content knowledge, or even completing simple tasks, instilling this mindset is crucial as it will help them to be realistic and strategic in their endeavors. By imparting these concepts, we are teaching them to confront challenges with a growth mindset, underscoring the importance of effort, persistence, and adaptability. After all, my aspiration is for my students to grasp the significance of grit and resilience. They must learn to recognize that life will inevitably present fair share of failure, and it is through these experiences that they can truly thrive and develop. Thus, they must equip themselves with burning perseverance, undying tenacity, fervent determination, and cast-iron will-power to not give up most especially when things are going wrong and when they find themselves seemingly swimming against the tide. That no matter much their goals appear to be beyond any rationale, common reasoning, and normal logic, they should never quit on bringing their dreams and visions to fruition.I have been constantly talking about the importance of my students having grit and resilience as the vital aspect of my teaching philosophy. Yet, is it really applicable in a classroom set-up? One thing that needs to be remembered in this teaching philosophy is that sometimes, challenges should not only be tested by external circumstances; they should also be cultivated within the classroom. Some say that the best way to bring out the best in people is to treat them in a positive encouraging manner, capitalize on their gifts, and begin with their present needs and desires. Indeed, that is true. But that does not mean that a good teacher is soft. To the contrary, most highly motivating teachers are hard as nails on standards of excellence. They hold to certain values tenaciously, and they set out to build a group of like-minded students who share those same values. Thus, to bring out the best in our students means to establish high standards for excellence. Consider the well-known companies in our country. These best-running companies tolerate a considerable amount of individuality, but they are also tough in enforcing certain standards which are the reasons that made them successful — and at the core of this, are the leaders that enforce rigorous adherence to them. That is the same with a classroom set-up. Different students may have different values and maybe equally successful. But to be truly successful there must be some concepts to which the entire class subscribes. And to build such a culture requires a tough-minded leader — not an oppressive, strong-arm teacher, but one who has a certain inviolate credo and who expects high performance from everyone in the class. People are never inspired by doing a job or a task where nothing is asked of them, they are inspired by challenges. Just like them, students need to be pushed. We must have the power to challenge them since it is only by coming to grips with difficulty that they can realize their potentialities. However, if we are going to enforce such high standards in our classroom it also requires us to tell when our students do not meet those standards. One of the surest signs of a weak parent or a poor teacher is the fear of telling your students when they have failed. We will never be able to manage and motivate our learners if we are afraid to correct their mistakes. Thus, to operationalize this teaching philosophy, it is important to have the art of reprimand inside the class. I may arouse the occasional ire of people and might even be called ruthless by some. But what has actually happened is that I have made it clear that I will not sanction incompetence. Thus, as a teacher, I will be the one who believes in her students, who tugs and pushes and leads them on the next stage, sometimes poking them with a sharp stick called 'truth'. To practice this teaching philosophy, you must be willing to allow the other person to be quite unhappy with you for a time. After all, to be an inspiring teacher you do not have to be the smartest, or even the hardest-working person in the school. What it does require is that you have to be firm — firm in your dedication to excellence, even if it makes you temporarily unpopular. Teaching doesn't mean winning popularity contest. Some of the most talented people are terrible leaders because they have a crippling need to be loved by everyone. Just like what the child psychologist Haim Ginott said, “A good parent must like his children, but he must not have an urgent need to be liked by them every minute of the day." Before we leave this topic, it is important to note that in this teaching philosophy, you are teaching your student to avoid certain behavior, not to avoid you. If our students go constantly afraid of our wrath, they will not produce well. We want our students to fear the consequences of certain actions, rather than fearing us. In this way, we can objectively point out that life is a series of choices and that certain choices bring about certain results. Unsatisfactory grades cause them to lose privileges, and certain behavior gets them restricted. If you touch the hot burner you get hurt, and if you turn in a poor report you get the repercussions.
This is an essential lesson for them to learn grit and resilience as early as possible. More so, we must also take note that having this teaching philosophy inside the class is vastly different from that of the tyrant. Tyrants are always vengeful and will do whatever is necessary to get back at you if you disappoint them. On the other hand, this teaching philosophy emphasized that you as a teacher must be tough, but you must also always be fair, considerate, and compassionate — whose action will always be for the best interest of your students. "Certain persons lead the pack early, then fail to fulfill their promise. On the other hand, certain persons who were learners in their earlier years can become very strong and successful leaders. This is doubtless due in part to the spirit they had cultivated in those silent years." This is a mindset that I would like bring as I live up in the field of teaching. Starting strong in teaching is commendable, but it is important to remember that this initial vigor is merely just a starting point of a much longer and transformative journey. Teaching is not a sprint with a defined finish line; it is a marathon that demands grit, resilience, and a continuous commitment for improvement. Thus, starting now, I must view each day as an opportunity to learn and grow as an individual and as a future professional. I must stay curious and updated so that I can ensure that my teaching not only remains relevant and impactful, but also inspires my students a love for learning. But to truly inspire students, they also need to see that I am genuinely excited about teaching. After all, you cannot get your students fired up unless you are enthusiastic yourself. While this may lead to a misconception that enthusiasm requires a constant display of cheerfulness — in which some teachers believe they must appear happy at all times, it can come off as fake. Students are quick to discern when a teacher's enthusiasm is superficial and artificial, and no one wants to listen or be inspired by a teacher who seems fake! So, my goal is to keep it real in teaching. Being genuinely enthusiastic is not about faking constant happiness. It is about truly caring about what I am teaching and believing in the importance of education. Real enthusiasm comes from a sincere love for teaching and a passion for helping students learn. Furthermore, I will set to myself to see teaching not merely as profession, but a vocation that demands continuous self-reflection and refinement. I firmly believe that fostering a growth mindset within myself will enable me to model the value of lifelong learning for my students, inspiring them to face challenges with determination and a hunger for knowledge. By demonstrating a genuine enthusiasm for learning and growth, I aim to create a classroom culture that celebrates curiosity, grit, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence. To achieve this, I am fully dedicated to engaging in ongoing professional development opportunities, ranging from workshops and seminars to graduate-level coursework. More so, I am open to seek mentorship and feedback from experienced educators or collogues, ready to embrace constructive criticism in my journey towards growth and refinement. After all, to be a great teacher, we must be open for change, as greatness does not come upon suddenly. It accrues gradually from persistent study and regualar cultivation. In the end, as I write down these things, I realized a fundamental fact about education: we teach best when we seek the welfare of those we teach, when we seek to serve rather than being served. The devotion of a teacher to a students — the combination of protecting them and pushing them out of their nest — is the epitome of this teaching philosophy, it is by then we can instill the grit, resilience, and continuous passion for learning they need. It may not always be easy for a teacher to be tolerant of those they teach. We might encounter students who are less ambitious than we are, sometimes less sure of themselves, sometimes less gifted. But they are just like us – a combination of bad and good. Thus, it is upon us to reach in and draw out the best from them, if we can, they might try harder for us than for anyone in the world. Or perhaps, they might accomplish some surprising things.
Learning in a rhythmism point of view is a radiant tapestry that unfolds in the presence of an eager and inquisitive mind, a dance between the seeker and the sought. Aspiring teachers such as myself, standing at the cliff of educational stewardship, to embark on a journey to understand the ethereal essence of learning and to orchestrate it’s symphony within the hallowed halls of the classroom. The delicate threads of absorption of learning weaves with the loom of understanding. In the enchanting perspective of rhythmism, teaching exceeds conventional boundaries, emerging as a meaningful dance between the seeker and the sought, the teacher and the student. At the cliff of educational stewardship, aspiring teachers, including myself, embark on a journey to decipher the ethereal essence of learning and orchestrate its symphony within the revered walls of the classroom. Teaching, in the rhythmic ideal, into crafting a radiant tapestry that unfolds the eager and inquisitive minds. It involves a delicate dance of absorption and understanding, where the teacher becomes a guiding force, weaving the threads of knowledge with the loom of comprehension. This dance, bathed in the hues of cognition, extends beyond mere reception, evolving into a vibrant symphony within the intricate domains of the learner's mind resonating through cognitive, emotional, and social realms.Within the enchanted tapestry of a learning situation, a myriad of interrelated elements converges, forming the masterpiece of the educational experience for eager students. The teacher assumes the role of a caring guardian, nurturing the growth of young minds through a commitment to collaboration, inclusivity, and practical wisdom. Collaboration, the first element, involves inspiring and sparking imagination. The teacher becomes a beacon of inspiration, creating an environment where the eagerness to learn becomes a propelling wind for the journey of knowledge. This collaborative spirit forms the foundation for a dynamic and engaging classroom, where the students actively participate in the co-creation of knowledge. Inclusivity, the second element, invites students to engage in shared ideas and mutual understanding. The aspiring teacher, acting as a facilitator of discourse, fosters a common atmosphere where minds converge and harmonize in a symphony of shared insights. This inclusive environment not only recognizes but celebrates the diverse contributions of each student, transforming the classroom into a vibrant painting of differences. Practical wisdom, the final element, entails the weaving of a tapestry that intertwines theoretical knowledge with real-world application. With each lesson, the teacher invites students to engage in the use of practical skills, translating theoretical concepts into applicable insights. This emphasis on practicality bridges the gap between theory and practice, empowering students with the skills needed to navigate the complexities of the real world. In this collaborative classroom setup, the teacher creates an inclusive atmosphere that goes beyond acknowledging and actively embraces the diversity among students. The environment transforms into a canvas of distinctions, where each individual contribution and deviation enhances the overall shared understanding. The teacher, functioning as a promoter of harmony, nurtures a space that not only promotes collaboration but also motivates students to apply their knowledge in practical, real-world situations. In this peaceful landscape,, the teacher's direction acts as a subtle breeze, directing the diverse aspects of student potential toward the well-painted realms of understanding. Collectively, the teacher and each student create an enduring harmony of enlightenment, where the active engagement of all transforms the educational space into a garden of flourishing intellects. In this scenario, every student is not only equipped with knowledge but also gains practical skills to navigate the complexities of the real world, contributing to the dynamic collection of shared wisdom.Firstly, a skill to be obtained in this rhythmic learning journey is critical thinking. I anticipate my students to develop the ability to navigate the intellectual landscape with understanding, weaving connections between concepts, evaluating information, and synthesizing diverse ideas. Critical thinking becomes the melody that guides them through the complexities of knowledge, enabling them to approach challenges with an analytical mindset. Secondly, communication skills will be nurtured as an essential note in the symphony of learning. Through collaborative discourse and shared insights, verbal or written form, effective communication becomes the rhythm that harmonizes diverse perspectives within the educational ensemble. Additionally, problem-solving skills will be improved, transforming theoretical understanding into practical application. In the rhythmic perspective, learning is not just about absorbing information but also about dancing through real-world challenges. Students will gain the ability to apply their knowledge creatively, resolving complex issues with innovative solutions. Emotional intelligence is another key skill I aim for my students to cultivate. Understanding and managing their own emotions, as well as empathizing with others, will be integral in the rhythmism of the learning process. This skill contributes to a harmonious classroom environment, where emotional significance are acknowledged and embraced. Furthermore, adaptability will be a resonating note in their skill set. In the ever changing world, students will learn to navigate uncertainties and complexities with flexibility. They will develop resilience, adjusting their steps to the evolving rhythm of challenges and opportunities. In conclusion, within the rhythmic model of education, I anticipate my students to emerge not only with a wealth of knowledge but also with a symphony of skills. From critical thinking to effective communication, problem-solving to emotional intelligence, and adaptability, these skills harmonize to create a well-rounded ensemble of empowered learners. As they graduate from the educational dance floor, my students will carry with them the melody of skills essential for a lifelong journey of intellectual exploration and real-world engagement. In the rhythmic tapestry of education, where each student is represented as a unique note in the symphony of learning, the goals of class participation, maintaining a optimistic and confident demeanor, demonstrating competence, fostering respect, striving for success, and nurturing harmonious relationships align with the principles of rhythmism. Class participation, similar to a dance of engagement, embodies the rhythmic philosophy by encouraging students to actively contribute their perspectives, creating a harmonious exchange of ideas. Each student's participation becomes a vital chord, enriching the collective melody of the classroom. Being optimistic, competent, and confident aligns with rhythmism's emphasis on holistic development. Like musical notes in harmony, positivity fosters an optimistic atmosphere, competence mark by mastery of subject matter, and confidence resonates as a key component in the rhythm of intellectual growth. Respect, a fundamental note in the rhythmism symphony, creates a melody of consideration and understanding. Students, like instruments in an orchestra, learn to value diverse opinions and perspectives, contributing to a harmonious environment where mutual respect forms the backbone of the educational experience. Striving for success becomes the volume in the rhythmism score. Each student, guided by the rhythm of aspiration, is encouraged to set personal and academic goals, creating a harmonious progression towards excellence. Harmonious relationships, the overarching theme in the rhythmism, emphasize the interconnectedness of students in the learning journey. Like instruments complementing each other, students foster a supportive community, enhancing the overall harmonious resonance within the classroom. In conclusion, the goals set for students in the rhythmism inspired classroom mirror the orchestrated symphony of holistic development. Each goal, from active class participation to fostering harmonious relationships, contributes to the harmonious melody of a vibrant and collaborative learning environment. The classroom, in rhythmism, becomes a stage where every student's unique note harmonizes to create a beautiful and enriching educational composition. In actualizing the goals and skills set within the rhythmism philosophy, a diverse arrangement of activities and projects can be integrated into the classroom to create a dynamic and harmonious learning environment. For fostering active class participation, I should consider implementing interactive discussions, group projects, and collaborative problem-solving activities. These attempts will encourage students to engage dynamically, contributing their unique perspectives to the collective learning experience. Utilizing multimedia presentations or debates can further enrich the symphony of ideas. To instill a positive, competent, and confident demeanor, we should incorporate activities that boost self-esteem and showcase individual talents. This could include talent shows, presentations, or skill-sharing sessions, allowing students to express themselves confidently while developing a sense of competence in their abilities. In alignment with the rhythmism emphasis on respect, projects that promote cultural awareness, diversity appreciation, and empathy-building activities can be integrated. This might involve research projects on different cultures, collaborative storytelling, or community service initiatives that foster a deeper understanding and respect for others. And to encourage students to strive for success, set personalized goals and milestones. Implement projects that allow students to track their progress, reflect on achievements, and celebrate successes, fostering a rhythmic progression toward academic excellence. Harmonious relationship building can be facilitated through team-building activities, and collaborative projects. Group assignments that require collective problem-solving or community outreach initiatives can strengthen bonds and create a symphony of cooperation within the classroom. Overall, the key is to design projects and activities that not only align with the rhythmism philosophy but also cater to diverse learning styles, allowing each student to contribute their unique note to the collective melody. The aim is to create a dynamic and harmonious educational symphony where students actively engage, respect one another, strive for success, and foster a positive and confident demeanor, embodying the principles of rhytmism in their educational journey. In the harmonious realm of education, my journey as a teacher, guided by a musician's soul and a positive personality, unfolds like a melody, seeking to operationalize the principles of rhythmism within the hallowed walls of my classroom. As a musician, I grasp the power of rhythm, the heartbeat of music that move its narrative forward. Because of this, my role as a conductor becomes crucial. Much like orchestrating a symphony, I set the tempo for engagement, positivity, and collaboration in my classroom. Transitions and routines are soaked with a rhythmic beat, creating an energetic and flow that elevates the overall atmosphere. My musical expertise becomes a metaphorical key, unlocking doors to a world of creative and engaging activities. I design projects that reflects the principles of harmony and balance present in music, fostering collaboration and teamwork. The classroom transforms into a stage where each student plays a unique note, contributing to the collective symphony of learning. The curriculum becomes a canvas where I paint with the vibrant hues of music. Concepts are reinforced through melodies and rhythms, creating method that aids memory retention. The richness of human creativity is explored through exposure to diverse musical genres, fostering an appreciation for cultural diversity and artistic expression. A Rhythmic Note system emerges, inspired by the language of music. Students earn positive notes for accomplishments, contributions, or acts of kindness. These notes, related to musical notes in a composition, are shared with the class, creating a culture of recognition and positivity. My positive personality, a natural extension of this system, becomes a beacon of encouragement, uplifting students and creating an environment where achievements are celebrated. Embracing a growth mindset, I weave the concept of improvement into the fabric of our educational journey. Challenges are re framed as opportunities for growth, aligning with the repetitive nature of musical practice. Through activities that promote resilience and perseverance, students learn that each note in their educational symphony contributes to their evolving melody of success. Mindfulness and relaxation, infused with the therapeutic power of music, become integral components of the classroom experience. Short musical interludes punctuate our daily routine, offering moments of reflection and quietness. This practice aligns with my positive personality, creating a serene atmosphere that enhances focus and well-being. Feedback, an essential element in the educational composition, is delivered with a positive tone. Constructive criticism becomes a meaningful melody, guiding students toward improvement without dampening their spirits.
Mistakes are re framed as part of the learning process, reinforcing the idea that every note, whether perfectly played or in need of refinement, contributes to the beautiful melody of education. In the symphony of my classroom, the principles of rhythmism come to life. My role as a conductor, informed by a musician's sensibility and a positive personality, creates an environment where the beat of learning is both uplifting and harmonious. Through this orchestration, my aim is not just to teach but to cultivate a love for learning, where each student's unique note resonates in the grand composition of education.Embarking on the journey of teaching, my love for this noble profession initially wavered in the face of fears regarding my potential success. The daunting potential of whether I could truly make a meaningful impact wavered fear on my earlier year into the field. However, as time passed, I discovered a blossoming affection for teaching, transforming my fear into a genuine love and embrace for the course. In the pursuit of becoming an effective and compassionate educator, I have set several goals. Each coming from the integration of my evolving passion and the core values that support my teaching philosophy.First and foremost, among these goals is the cultivation of adaptability to differences. I recognize the rich tapestry of diversity within any learning environment, acknowledging that each student brings a unique set of experiences, abilities, and challenges. My goal is to tailor my teaching approach to accommodate these differences, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive. This adaptability involves staying adjusted to individual learning styles, preferences, and needs, fostering an inclusive classroom where each student feels seen and valued. Collaboration skill is the second goal I’d like to foster. I envision the classroom as a vibrant ecosystem where knowledge is co-created through the collaborative efforts of both students and myself. To achieve this, I actively encourage open dialogue, group discussions, and collaborative projects. By creating an atmosphere that fosters teamwork and mutual respect, I aim to instill in my students the understanding that learning is not just an individual task but a common journey. Nurturing creativity skills is another key objective in my teaching philosophy. I believe that fostering creativity is not just about nurturing artistic expression but also about cultivating critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. My goal is to design lessons and projects that stimulate imagination, encouraging students to think beyond the conventional and embrace innovative approaches to problem-solving. This involves incorporating diverse teaching methods, incorporating real-world scenarios, and providing opportunities for students to express themselves in various creative ways. Empathy is another aim my goals, intertwining with the fabric of my teaching philosophy. Recognizing the diverse backgrounds and challenges that students may face, I aspire to create a compassionate and empathetic learning environment. This involves actively listening to my students, being adjusted to their emotional well-being, and providing the necessary support when needed. By fostering a sense of trust and understanding, I aim to create a safe space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and taking academic risks. Communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, form an integral part of my goals as a teacher. Effective communication is the bridge that connects educators and students, facilitating a smooth exchange of ideas and information. My goal is to convey complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner, making learning engaging and comprehensible. Additionally, I aim to create an open line of communication with students, encouraging them to voice their thoughts, questions, and concerns. Lifelong learning is not just a goal but a guiding principle that defines my approach to teaching. I view education as a dynamic and ever-evolving field, and my goal is to instill in my students a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. This involves modeling a growth mindset, demonstrating a curiosity for knowledge, and emphasizing the value of continuous self-improvement. Patience is a virtue I hold dear in my teaching aspirations. Recognizing that each student learns at their own pace, I aspire to cultivate a patient and understanding demeanor. This involves providing additional support when necessary, offering clarifications, and creating an environment where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for learning and growth. Preparedness, coupled with a wide knowledge of the subject matter, is a goal that anchors my commitment to delivering high-quality education. I understand the importance of thorough preparation in creating effective learning experiences. My goal is to stay well-prepared in the subject matter, keeping
informed of new developments and integrating current insights into my teaching. This involves meticulous lesson planning, staying informed about educational trends, and engaging in continuous professional development. Lastly, woven into the fabric of my teaching goals is the principle of respect. I aim to create a classroom culture where respect is the guiding principle in all interactions. This involves respecting the diverse perspectives and backgrounds of my students, acknowledging their individual strengths, and creating an atmosphere where everyone feels valued. To accomplish these goals as a teacher, I engage in a varied approach that combines ongoing reflection, professional development, and a genuine commitment to the well-being and growth of my students. Regular self-assessment allows me to refine my teaching methods and adapt to the evolving needs of my students. Seeking feedback from students and colleagues provides valuable insights that contribute to my continuous improvement as an educator. Professional development is a foundation of my approach, involving participation in workshops, conferences, and collaborative learning communities. This proactive engagement with the broader educational community allows me to stay abreast of best practices, innovative teaching methods, and emerging trends in education. Moreover, building strong relationships with students is essential in achieving these goals. Actively listening to their feedback, being responsive to their needs, and demonstrating genuine care for their academic and personal development contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment. In conclusion, my goals as a teacher, forged through my evolving love for teaching, created a commitment to adaptability, collaboration, creativity, empathy, effective communication, lifelong learning, patience, preparedness, and respect. Through a holistic and student-centered approach, I attempt to create an educational environment that nurtures the diverse needs of each student, fosters collaboration, and inspires a lifelong love for learning. In doing so, I aspire to not only impart knowledge but also to empower my students to become critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and compassionate individuals poised for success in the ever-changing landscape of the future.
Learning, in its most simplified sense, is a process of obtaining knowledge. But such a definition cannot suffice and capture the essence of it. Learning is a journey, an endless expedition of capturing the sense of the unknown, maneuvering the vast seas of unfamiliarities, and synthesizing the yet undiscovered chunks of enlightenment. It defies the mere acquisition of knowledge and the confinement to the acquisition of figures and spoon-fed information. It involves dwelling in the domains of cognition, reflection, and human experience. It is through learning that one becomes aware of himself or herself, his or her world and its people, and recurring and nonrecurring processes taking place in it. I believe that to effectively learn, one must incorporate his or her prior knowledge and new learning, know how to make meaning, and build his or her knowledge with the help of an interactive learning environment. Understanding the complexities of the world and its processes requires building knowledge from experience instead of passively acquiring knowledge. One must experience the world to incorporate newfound knowledge into their existing ones. This can be achieved by exposure to learning situations. One can learn from different learning situations which encompass a synergy of factors that ensures the active learning process. In a learning setting, learning happens initially due to the desire for knowledge, as well as curiosity and interest. Learners must be encouraged to question and formulate ideas. Educators must provide guidance and instruction to young minds, incorporating strategies to provoke their critical thinking. It is also in a learning situation where learners actively participate in understanding the subject matter, unfolding its nuances, and meticulously applying the newly uncovered knowledge. It is where mistakes and obstacles become their comrades, for a learning situation welcomes these for learners’ growth. Another factor is the internalization of the lessons learned, where learners assimilate the newly found information into their existing ones. As young minds are exposed to new knowledge, it is the duty of their teachers to provide them with feedback and further support, ensuring that learners process insights effectively. The teachers have to understand that social interaction is an indispensable element in the learning process. What happens during a learning situation provides learners with opportunities for knowledge and skills acquisition, where they grow as a person and as a learner, where their curiosity and understanding meet, and where learners’ enlightenment sprouts and proliferates, like a bed of daffodils, within the fertile garden of the conscious mind. Learning is a voyage towards enlightenment. With learning’s complexities and undeniable significance to human development, it is, therefore, necessary to be an educator who can provide sufficient support and assistance to his or her students. When one wonders how learning can be ensured, one must look at the beacons of knowledge—teachers. This is because teachers are professionals committed to promoting the learning of students. They are the ones who are mastering the art of teaching, and it is with teaching that learning is guided. Teaching goes beyond giving information like an authoritarian figure. To teach is to spark someone’s interest in matters unknown or related, and guide them from its very particulars to its core. It is with teaching that igniting students’ curiosity results in enlightenment. Teaching is all about supporting learners as they learn to learn while they learn. It is understanding and embracing the realities of diversity and learners’ uniqueness in learning, that their experiences, previous knowledge, and beliefs serve as a foundation in their learning process. Teaching means breathing life into learning by setting a journey of challenge, discovery, and growth in which students learn together. Teaching transcends the mere act of staying up late deliberately crafting lesson plans, searching resources, designing activities, standing in front of the students, and spitting words of wisdom. Teaching is fostering a lifelong love of learning, of growing. As a teacher-in-the-making, it is my belief that being a facilitator of learning instead of being an authoritarian one is the optimal approach to teaching. If a teacher acts like a dictator in the classroom, expecting students to abide by their rules without question, and using strict discipline to maintain classroom order, learning can happen, but out of terror and pressure. I do not believe in terrorizing, imposing, and pounding the minds of young people in order to learn. Knowledge and insights will be deeply interwoven in the depths of the mind when learning involves emotional connection and engaging experience. To do this, a teacher must undergo a meticulous preparation process to provide the best possible education for the students. As educators facilitate learning, having an adequate education and qualifications is a must. If a teacher is like a fish flopping around on dry land, one cannot expect that learning will be facilitated effectively. It imposes risks, particularly on the students, young minds who are asking for guidance, support, and scaffolding in their learning process. A teacher must sense this kind of
danger, so as to not corrupt and misdirect the minds of the learners. To facilitate learning, there are ways I could include such as promoting experiential learning activities, promoting problem-solving and critical thinking, ensuring a collaborative, interactive, and learner-centered classroom environment, creating an environment where curious minds are allowed to explore, discover, and question matters, and incorporating real-life contexts and situations in the learning process. It is crucial to let students feel that the world is their oyster and to not limit their potential and capabilities to what is believed as standard, to what society expects. Never see learners the same way as others, they are unique individuals who learn at their own pace and ways. It is my goal to establish a learning environment where students are excited and enthusiastic to learn. In addition, I believe that learners must not be confined to classrooms like insects in a jar. They need to experience and interact with their environment. Classrooms can be suffocating and limiting when it comes to experiential learning, and therefore, learners have to be engaged in their natural environment as they learn. My approach emphasizes the balance between using a traditional classroom and the natural environment in learning. It is in the hands of the teacher to incorporate engagement in the natural environment into the learning process. It is my belief that limiting learners’ environment to chairs, tables, and chalkboards promotes passive learning. Thus, learners must also be in touch with their natural environment, outside of the four walls of the traditional classroom. This way, building knowledge will be more effective. The best way to learn is to learn in a positive and interactive environment. An educator could never be more elated when learners learn while having fun.We definitely cannot deny the fact that certain expectations are expected by society towards learners for various reasons, including whether schools are necessary for their children and will their children get anything from schooling. What can one expect from learners who are learning in an interactive, learner-centered, and hands-on learning environment? Through this teaching approach, learners will, without a doubt, gain not only knowledge about the subject matter but also the necessary skills they can use throughout their lives. The skills they can gain and master are vast. For one, learners will obtain communication skills. Needless to say, a highly interactive learning environment will improve and practice learners’ communication skills as it prioritizes working in groups and with their peers through engaging activities. As they interact with their co-learners, they will learn how to get their ideas across them, their thoughts, and their questions. This is strengthened since the approach encourages their confidence and their right to speak and be heard. Along with communication skills come collaboration skills, creativity, and adaptability skills. Learning with peers allows ideas to be generated easier by listening to others’ thoughts and points too. This also allows them to obtain social skills, as interacting with their co-learners helps them get along with people from different backgrounds. Learners do not only collaborate for the sake of the activities, but their skills collaborate as well, resulting in their growth. Critical thinking skills will also be obtained as learners will be exposed to information that builds on their prior knowledge, problems, and contexts they need to analyze. The nature of the learner-centered learning environment encourages the learners to think, evaluate, question, and solve problems and situations, thus also enhancing their problem-solving skills. Although the aforementioned skills stressed the skills obtained through interaction, it does not mean this approach deprives learners of skills related to independence and self-direction. This approach highlights building knowledge based on the prior ones, and in this sense, learners will develop the ability to reflect and take responsibility for their own learning. Learners individually build knowledge and this process is only driven and supported by the learning situations and with the support of the teacher and their co-learners. These skills, if one discerns them, are skills that need to be mastered and adopted for the 21st-century context. In a world where information and society are interconnected, where the world becomes borderless, and where opportunities welcome individuals who possess excellent communication and social skills, obtaining such skills can prove beneficial for learners if mastered. Knowing how to weave words that reach the delicate chambers of the heart and trigger the chemical and electrical reactions of the brain is a strength useful in existing in the ever-changing world. Knowing how to touch a soul through building connections and relationships can expand one's opportunities, as social connections and leverage become influential factors in today’s competitive world. This approach to teaching establishes a learning environment that helps students obtain these skills so that they can use them when they set foot in the real world, and as a result of their learning through this teaching approach, learners will obtain these skills.Teaching requires unwavering dedication, and a teacher must have absolute faith in their learners’ capabilities as it is the fundamental element to unlocking their potential. A teacher carries the responsibility not only for the welfare of the learners every time they are at school but also for their learning. Though this teaching approach is centered on the learners, the role of the teacher is not disregarded as they are the facilitators of learning. There can be a misconception that being a facilitator of learning means only supervising the learners in the learning process, solely providing instruction and feedback, tapping the learners’ interests, and letting them explore. A facilitator of learning’s role and responsibility goes beyond these. I believe that a facilitator of learning must embody a certain mantra, that is, hold high expectations for your learners. In a teaching approach that promotes building knowledge from prior ones, it is necessary that the teacher believes in the abilities of learners, sets high standards for what they can achieve, and challenges them to reach their full potential while providing them the support and guidance they need to achieve their potential. Goals are important for they give meaning and purpose to learning. As a teacher, the goals I will set for my learners will revolve around cultivating active participation and engagement in the learning process and building knowledge based on their prior understanding. It is my goal that my learners will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, communication skills, collaboration skills, adaptability skills, creativity, social skills, self-direction, and independent learning. It is my goal that my learners cultivate a growth thinking and lifelong love of learning, cultivate respect for diversity, develop their sense of responsibility, and obtain the knowledge and skills they need for success. All these goals will rely on the activities and tasks that I will implement. For the learning environment I will strive to build, activities that promote interaction will be my priority. However, the activities will not solely aim for interaction to occur, but the activities will be designed to build knowledge and insights from what the learners currently have. These activities include problem-solving activities, project-based activities, games that stimulate cognitive processes, simulations, group investigatory tasks, and the like. These activities are supplemental in achieving an interactive and inclusive learning environment. Outputs I can implement can include individual and group outputs. Allowing the learners to generate individual output allows them to reflect and think for themselves, how they will apply their learnings, and how they can integrate their newfound knowledge and their previous ones. It gives room for self-direction and independent learning, which balances out the importance of independent learning and interactive learning. This is in consideration that not all learners learn with a repeated approach, and not all learners learn best through interaction. In other words, it gives them a moment to breathe and rest from interaction. Activities, outputs, projects, and tasks that can be incorporated or used are limitless in this approach, for there are varieties of ways to instill new insights and help construct knowledge particularly when interaction is in place.philosophy of teaching where young minds are facilitated rather than dictated could only take place once the teacher embodies this philosophy in teaching, like a conductor of an orchestra. I firmly believe that the teacher’s support is a crucial element in learning as they practice the art of teaching. Therefore, to operationalize my philosophy of teaching, I will build a learning environment that is a learner-centered one, an interactive and supportive environment where questioning and critical thinking are encouraged, and where learners’ voices and ideas are heard and valued. Building this kind of learning environment allows the learners to actively participate in the learning process and experience learning itself. As my teaching philosophy centers on the idea that knowledge is built by the combination of new information and existing ones, I will utilize teaching strategies and methods that facilitate learners in relating and building upon their existing knowledge. I will incorporate thought-provoking activities and questions, encourage collaboration and teamwork, and guide the learners by giving them feedback and further learning support. Perhaps the most influential factor in operationalizing my teaching philosophy is the attitude and characteristics of both the learners and the teacher itself. On my part, as a teacher, I must understand the uniqueness of each and every learner, that they have different strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. It is a crucial part of being a teacher, we must understand the nature of the learners and tailor our strategies and methods based on their learning needs. I must understand the attitude of the learners and their disparate range of aptitudes. This only stresses that not all learners learn the same way, and one-size-fits-all instruction is not the best strategy. Although students are at the heart of my teaching approach, the teacher has a huge impact on the mood and atmosphere of the classroom. It is the teacher who sets the floor for interaction, engagement, and attention in the first place.
A learning environment that is designed to be interactive and collaborative may not be functional if the students cannot see the teacher as a positive one. A teacher who does not display preparedness, creativeness, fairness, and compassion is likely to fail in connecting and building good relationships with his or her learners. A teacher who does not cultivate a sense of belongingness will fail to ignite the learners’ desire and thirst for knowledge and will fail to build a learner-centered environment. I see to it that I must furnish and master an attitude that will allow me to build a positive connection with my students such as positiveness, trustworthiness, attitudes, and traits that make a teacher a comforting and reliable facilitator of learning. I believe that learners learn when they are highly motivated, thus, being a teacher that they can see as a parent and a friend is a crucial factor in their pursuit of knowledge. Motivation makes learning meaningful. The attitude and traits of the teacher and the learners matter as it shapes the learning experience of both parties. What the learners are learning and how they are doing it matter, so as a teacher, I will ensure to maximize learning efficiency and effectiveness by determining important factors such as these. My philosophy of teaching is focused on the learners and I have set goals for them, but I understand the importance of my role as a facilitator of learning. Therefore, it is imperative that I, too, must set goals as a teacher. As a teacher, my goals are definite: inspire and facilitate growth, cultivate a lifelong love of learning, ignite curiosity and thirst for the pursuit of knowledge, build an interactive and inclusive classroom environment, build and maintain harmonious relationships towards my students, co-educators, and the society, and most importantly, become a competent and effective educator. I am well-informed about the difficulties of being an educator, the sacrifices and burdens I must shoulder, and the harsh realities of being one. I am well-informed that there is no money in the academy (or in the
education field), and that it is a lifetime commitment for the future citizens of the country. Yet, the fire in my heart still burns with the desire to push ahead, to forge onward, and to harvest the fruits of my relentless labor. This is what sustains me on this journey, and what motivates me to keep striving towards my teaching goals. My goals as a teacher cannot be achieved in one sitting, in achieving a degree and title, or in a decade of service. My goals will take shape as time progresses and as I continue to refine my skills, expand my knowledge, and cultivate my expertise. As I invest my efforts in molding the minds of my students, I will witness their growth and witness the impact of my guidance. This is the ultimate payoff of my labor and the ultimate reward of my dedication to teaching. Teaching is a lifelong journey, and to be a teacher means to be forever a student. To accomplish these goals, I will strive for continuous growth. This involves pursuing certifications, staying informed about new pedagogical methods, and using my knowledge and skills to the utmost to benefit my students and my community. I will engage in professional development opportunities, participate in conferences and workshops, and remain up-to-date on the latest educational trends. By doing so, I can effectively serve my community and help my students thrive. Through unwavering dedication and service, I can inspire my students to grow and improve themselves. Through excellent service, I can facilitate growth and cultivate a love of learning, and the rest of my goals follow. The goals I have set are intertwined, yet they are way harder than breaking down a brick wall by hand. My philosophy believes in building knowledge, and it seems that the same idea applies to me as a teacher. The prior knowledge I have of the subject matter I teach and the strategies, methods, and techniques I will be using will evolve with time, and I have to build my understanding from my previous knowledge to the newly found one too, ensuring that my teaching can keep up with the changing times. In this sense, my existence as a teacher will serve as proof that learning is an endless journey of uncovering the unknown, to arise enhanced, transformed, and profoundly enlightened.
A classroom with a set of students who are listening to a teacher, jotting down notes, answering quizzes, participating with the activities, interacting with fellow students and such is not entirely what learning means. Learning won't start and stop inside the classroom. It won't cease immediately after the class hours. It won't fade away after lending an ear to a particular discussion. It won't be terminated in a way subsequent to what most people think because learning is an established step to gain knowledge. It is the first way to modify your abilities and develop your skills. It involves the students who are acquiring knowledge and attitude that will serve as a contributor for their own values. Also, it is not merely the act of gaining information but the proof of application where one can use his or her learning to a particular circumstance because that is what should be obtained from a learning situation. There are a lot of events in a learning environment and one of those is the interaction that can be created throughout the time of learning. Although learning can be seen as a complicated process where one can experience different struggles, still, it is where the opportunities to improve begin. In learning situations, you can observe a journey of a learner undergoing from the first stage onto the stage of improvement. It is where a person encounters new information and experiences interpretation to a certain discussion. There are various teaching methods to create a learning environment that is comfortable to every student just like learning that encourages discovery, critical thinking, experimentation, curiosity and creativity. You can also view from a learning situation the idea of social benefit where students will meet different kinds of people while they are learning. They can make friends, companions and also inspiration to do more for their own development. Learning situations can also provide an effective communication where there can be an exchange of perspectives and learners will not only strengthen their own knowledge but also benefit from diverse perspectives and alternative approaches. Constructive feedback is also present where it can guide learners by highlighting strengths and areas for improvement, allowing them for further reflection and understanding of their own mistakes. Since the learning situation is not just about acquiring knowledge, it can be observed there as well the provision of different skills that can be used by the students in real-life situations. It can also be believed that learning is about converting information into understanding and application. It's about developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills and the ability to build on your existing knowledge and experience. It is a path of an individual in which he or she can acquire, retain and apply knowledge that can lead to a personal growth and development. If there is learning, there is also the act of teaching. Teaching means opening yourself to learning and improving. You cannot teach if you didn't learn anything since before you'll have the ability to teach effectively, you need to learn first properly. Yet, being knowledgeable after learning doesn't mean you can immediately teach students effectively since there are a lot of factors to consider. You don't have to just pass the information you gained because you need to make it remembered by your students. From that, it is, indeed, that teaching is a process that should be worked on and facilitated to. It involves guiding, inspiring and encouraging learners towards an environment that will enable them to explore, question and synthesize knowledge. Also, it's about creating a collaborative atmosphere where teachers are catalysts for intellectual and emotional development. Given those facts, I'll facilitate this process as a teacher through going back on everything I have learned from the first day I stepped on school to learn. I'll be considerate and look back at my students' experiences that I had also encountered. I'll understand
that there are active students who really have the courage to show up their skills but I'll also understand those students who prefer being silent because they are afraid to commit mistakes. I'll be aware of their background so I'll be able to know their possible reasons if they weren't able to accomplish a certain task that I have assigned to them. I'll also encourage all of them, silent students or not, to join different activities until they'll finally know what type of learner they are. Moreover, I'll recognize their learning styles and differences to ensure that they can adapt to my instruction, content and assessment. I'll make use of instructional strategies that are tailored to their capacity and I will create a variety of techniques, including lectures, discussions, group work and hands-on activities. I'll also integrate real-world applications of learning so they can facilitate more of their own understanding. I'll also strive to teach at my best for my students to feel motivated and appreciated that even though they might think that they are not deserving of where they are, still, I'll show them that I'm believing in their abilities. I'll also respect different perspectives and promote a positive classroom culture where anyone will feel free to express their feelings. As a future educator, there are skills that I expect for my students to obtain as the result of their learning. One of those is the skill of firmly standing with their own beliefs and morals. Also, their ability to critically analyze information and create their own reflection onto it. By encouraging students to question, evaluate and reason, I also desire to teach a skill, which enables their independent thinking and decision-making. I also expect my students to form thoughts clearly, actively listen and engage in constructive and effective communication. Through group projects and interactive sessions, I expect them to develop teamwork, respect for different opinions and have the ability to work harmoniously toward a common goal. I want my students to approach challenges with ingenuity and be able to develop innovative, unconventional, yet effective solutions. Providing these expectations, I also have goals for my students as I teach them thoroughly. One of my goals include not only for my students to accumulate knowledge but also to become an individual with excellent abilities in different areas of life. Aside from that, beyond academic ability, I strive to build confidence and independence in my students. I want them to develop the skills to confidently approach challenges, overcome hurdles and proactively seek solutions. I also want them to promote values such as integrity, empathy, and ethical decision-making since by teaching these principles, I can also help them to become responsible members of society. Lastly, I want them to know themselves well, to be aware of their own skills, their own fears and their own dreams that they will work on for their future. After setting expectations and goals for my students, these are my ways to achieve those things. As I know that setting goals is an important step in achieving success, I'm also aware that it's equally important to define a clear path that describes the activities and projects needed to achieve those goals. First, I'll evaluate my goals if I can really achieve those desires with the way I teach my students since I shouldn't expect an outcome I didn't work on. After that, I'll start an activity about having a detailed plan. I'll create a schedule that describes the activities that I'll assign to my students so I can manage the time of their learning. By setting deadlines for each task, it can help me ensure that I'll reach my goals. Additionally, I'll also maintain a balance between short-term and long-term goals. Short-term goals will motivate me and give me immediate progress while long-term goals will give me direction and deeper meaning about my experience in teaching. I'll also surround myself with supportive colleagues and mentors that will inspire me to improve for me to grow more. I can set these every thing that through creating detailed plans, breaking down goals into manageable tasks, creating a supportive environment and remaining adaptable, I'll strive to consistently achieve my goals while ensuring growth and development not just for myself but also for my students.Implementing educational philosophy in the classroom requires translating core beliefs, values and approaches into actionable practices that actively shape the learning environment. At the same time, personal characteristics play an important role in shaping my teaching approach, both for me as an educator and for understanding and responding to the needs of my students. To put my educational philosophy into practice in the classroom, I will emphasize first the importance of student-centered learning. This includes providing an inclusive and interactive classroom environment where students can actively participate in their own learning journeys. Aside from that, I'll also take note of the importance of differentiated instruction where I'll recognize that each student has unique learning styles and abilities to adapt to my teaching methods. By incorporating visual aids, hands-on activities and allowing for flexible learning paths, I believe that I can reach students with different strengths and challenges. I'll also implement strategies that promote open communication, mutual respect and a safe space for student expression. This is consistent with my belief that a positive classroom environment improves student learnin outcomes and well-being. Additionally, my own passion for continuous learning and growth is what I can say that influences my teaching style. Also, my experiences before until now that influenced me where I'll use all of my learnings from my mistakes and from my encounters to become an effective teacher to my students. By modeling a passion for knowledge and a commitment to self-improvement, I'll inspire my students to adopt a similar mindset and create a culture of lifelong learning in classrooms and that is where my personal characteristics greatly influence my teaching approach to ensure an effective educational and teaching experience someday.Looking back at the things I have stated, I realized that when I chose education as my college course, I have already imagined the countless and memorable explanations like this that I'm going to create since it's for my own benefit as a future teacher. From defining what learning is, understanding the act of teaching and setting goals for my future students, now, I'm also going to create a goal for myself as someone who'll become a teacher someday. Ever since, I have always wanted to inspire people and that will be my main goal as an educator. I will inspire, motivate and support my students. I will teach them to speak up on their own, to never let anyone degrade them and to believe in themselves. I will encourage them to own their learning where no one can dictate them what to do in their life decisions. I will regularly check their progress and I will give time to have an open conversation with them where they can ask me some things for them to be guided more. Aside from that, my other goal is to be better in teaching as time goes by that I am taking this field. I know in myself that I didn't really dream of becoming a teacher because this is not what I looked forward to before but I'm loving this course and this profession since it's connected to my future and to my dream which is to inspire people. I also have a silent attitude where I'm having a hard time expressing my feelings most of the time so this teaching profession is a way for me to step out of my fear since then. I would like to see myself in the future, inspiring students that might have once experienced what I had and in order for me to accomplish these goals, I'll work with the help of others because I cannot just improve by myself. I'll make myself influenced by different strategies, interactive discussions and learning activities to provide for my students. I will always start an academic year with an environment where my students will feel comfortable and free regardless of their background, ability as well as learning style. I will treat them equally no matter what abilities they can show me because I believe that they possess skills that are different from each other but it doesn't mean that they are less than one another. I will also support them with their own beliefs yet I will influence them with good values especially if I notice that their perspectives are harming the rights of other people. I will also incorporate an open discussion that respects different cultures and perspectives where we will actively work to identify and remove barriers to student learning so we can ensure an equal treatment and opportunity for all. Additionally, I will allow every student to lead so they'll experience to become a leader after being a follower and as I continue to teach different students, I will stay up to date with the latest teaching methods where I will regularly attend workshops, conferences and relevant online teaching discussions. I will also actively seek opportunities to collaborate with colleagues, participate in professional learning communities and engage in reflective practice to refine and improve my teaching strategies. Aside from that, I will also evaluate my progress as I evaluate the progress of my students. I will always identify opportunities for improvement, make necessary adjustments to my teaching approach and value the feedback of my students, colleagues and supervisors. I will always be open to any improvements I can work on because I'll always want to remember how I define teaching as a way of opening myself to learning and improving. Also, being a teacher someday doesn't conclude that I should be superior to anyone, it just concludes that I should use my decent profession to an outcome that will benefit me, my students and this society.
My approach to learning is based on the belief that education must be practical and meaningful and, at the same time, recognize individual freedom and responsibility in learning. When I ask myself, "What do you mean by learning?" I see it as a continuous process of gaining knowledge, skills, and understanding through active interaction with the world. I see learning as a dynamic and transformative process that goes beyond the acquisition of knowledge and skills. For me, learning is a holistic journey that involves active participation, critical thinking, and personal growth. In a learning situation, the focus is not only on delivering content but also on creating an environment that promotes active involvement, reflection, and application of knowledge. I believe that learners should be encouraged to ask questions, question assumptions, and think independently. Learning includes a practical aspect where learners are encouraged to apply what they have learned in real-life situations. It helps them develop problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to use information effectively. In addition, reflection plays a crucial role in learning. Students are encouraged to critically analyze their experiences and make connections with their prior knowledge. This reflective practice helps them understand concepts more deeply and promotes personal growth. I emphasize hands-on activities that allow students to apply what they have learned in real-world situations. This approach promotes problem-solving skills and encourages creativity. Furthermore, learning is not only about gathering information but also about self-knowledge and personal development. In the learning process, students are given the opportunity to explore their values, beliefs, and identities. They are encouraged to question their purpose and the consequences of their choices in order to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their role in the world. I understand that each student has unique interests, abilities, and goals. That is why I strive to create an inclusive environment where students can independently explore their passions and, at the same time, take responsibility for their learning. Therefore, my role as a teacher in a learning situation is not only to convey information but also to create an environment conducive to curiosity and self-discovery. I believe that learning occurs when students are actively involved in their education and are encouraged to question assumptions and challenge conventional wisdom. In my class, I try to create opportunities for students to participate in practical activities, collaborate, and solve real problems, and I will strive to connect the curriculum with real-life situations where students can see practical things and applications of what has been learned. This helps them develop a sense of purpose and meaning, making learning more meaningful and engaging. With this, I want to develop their critical skills and give them the opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning. Finally, the learning situation involves personal growth and self-discovery. It encourages students to reflect on their own values, beliefs, and aspirations. Using their existential selves, students can make connections between their identity and the knowledge they have acquired. This fosters a sense of ownership, autonomy, and authenticity in their learning. My understanding of teaching goes beyond the traditional notion of imparting knowledge and information to students. Teaching, to me, is a multifaceted process that involves guiding and facilitating the learning journey of each individual student while also inspiring them to explore their own unique identities and purposes. When I say "teaching," I mean creating an environment that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and self-discovery. It is about fostering a deep understanding of subject matter while also encouraging students to question, challenge, and make connections between what they are learning and their own lives. Moreover, my understanding of teaching will continue to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of students and society. Teaching will still involve guiding and facilitating the learning process, but with an increased emphasis on preparing students for a rapidly changing world and helping them find meaning and purpose in their lives. To facilitate this process as a teacher in the future, I will recognize that education is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I will embrace flexibility in curriculum design, instructional methods, and assessment strategies to cater to the diverse learning needs and interests of students. I will continuously adapt my teaching practices to incorporate emerging technologies and new pedagogical approaches that enhance the learning experience. And I will prioritize the development of critical and creative thinking skills in students. I will encourage them to question assumptions, analyze complex problems, and propose innovative solutions. I will provide opportunities for open-ended inquiry, problem-based learning, and real-world application of knowledge. By nurturing these skills, I will empower students to think independently, make informed decisions, and adapt to changing circumstances. Also, I will emphasize the importance of self-reflection and self-discovery in the learning process. I will encourage students to explore their values, passions, and personal goals. I will create opportunities for students to reflect on their own learning experiences, set meaningful objectives, and evaluate their progress. By helping students connect their learning to their own sense of purpose, I will empower them to find meaning and fulfillment in their lives. While creating a collaborative and inclusive learning community where students feel safe to share ideas, collaborate, and learn from one another. I will facilitate meaningful dialogue, respectful debates, and collaborative projects that promote teamwork, empathy, and effective communication. By fostering a culture of collaboration, I will enable students to develop their social and emotional skills, appreciate diverse perspectives, and work effectively in teams. More importantly, I will instill in my future students a strong sense of ethical responsibility and global citizenship. I will promote values such as empathy, respect, integrity, and social justice. I will encourage students to engage in service-learning projects, community initiatives, and advocacy for positive change. By doing so, I will empower students to become active contributors to the betterment of society and by embracing flexibility, fostering collaboration, nurturing self-reflection, and emphasizing ethical citizenship, I will strive to create a transformative learning environment that prepares students to thrive in an ever-changing world while finding purpose and fulfillment in their lives. My ultimate goal is to provide my students with a skill set that will enable them to navigate life and its challenges and find meaning and purpose in their existence. I believe in teaching my students practical skills while promoting their personal growth and self-awareness. In terms of skills, I expect my students to develop critical thinking. I want them to be able to analyze and evaluate information, think independently, and make informed decisions. In addition, I emphasize the importance of problem-solving skills so that my students can approach complex issues from multiple perspectives and come up with innovative solutions. Communication skills are also important to me. I expect my students to express their thoughts and ideas clearly, both in writing and orally. I encourage them to engage in effective listening, empathic communication, and respectful dialogue with others. I expect my students to have versatile skills that will benefit them in various areas of their lives. I want them to develop critical thinking that enables them to analyze and solve problems effectively. I encourage them to become independent learners who are able to do their own research and seek information outside of the classroom. In addition, I prioritize the development of emotional intelligence and communication skills. I want your students to develop empathy, compassion, and the ability to work effectively with others. By cultivating healthy relationships and understanding the perspectives of others, they can positively influence society. Based on these words, I intend to create and implement interesting and meaningful learning experiences that fulfill my educational goals. I carry out various activities, outputs, and projects or tasks that encourage critical thinking, self-reflection, and practical application. One of the activities that I can include is project-based learning, where students work on real projects that require them to apply their knowledge and skills to solve authentic problems. By participating in such projects, students develop their problem-solving abilities, creativity, and collaboration skills. Another option I can use is experiential learning, where students actively participate in hands-on experiences. This can include field trips, simulations, or role plays that allow students to engage with the subject in a hands-on way. Through these experiences, students gain a deeper understanding of concepts and valuable skills such as decision-making and adaptability. To promote self-reflection and personal growth, I may assign assignments that require students to journal or create personal portfolios. These activities offer students the opportunity to reflect on their learning journey, identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and set personal goals. By promoting self-awareness and self-directed learning, you empower students to take ownership of their education. Finally, I can integrate technology into your teaching strategies, enabling students to use digital tools and platforms to enhance their learning. This may include multimedia presentations, online surveys, or collaborative virtual projects. By using technology, you offer students the opportunity to develop digital literacy and adapt to the ever-evolving digital landscape. Overall, my activities, outputs, and projects/assignments aim to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that nurtures students' cognitive, emotional, and practical growth.I believe that applying my teaching philosophy in the classroom is important. This means that I not only have a clear understanding of my educational beliefs but also actively apply them to my teaching practice. I prioritize the needs, interests, and learning styles of my students and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students are actively involved in their learning. I would design activities and projects that make real connections and allow students to apply their knowledge in a practical way. This would encourage critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. I encourage regular self-reflection and encourage students to evaluate their learning process. This may include journaling, group discussions, or personal portfolios that promote metacognition and self-directed learning. I would encourage open and respectful discussion in the classroom where students can express their thoughts and opinions. This would encourage critical thinking, active listening, and exploring different perspectives. I recognize and accept the uniqueness of each student, adapting my teaching methods and materials to their individual needs. This may include differentiated instruction, flexible assessment methods, and providing students with a variety of resources for research. In terms of personality traits that influence my approach to teaching, I would rate empathy, understanding, and connection to my students' experiences, feelings, and challenges as guiding my teaching. I strive to create a stimulating and inclusive classroom where students feel seen and heard. The second is my passion for learning. I have a passion for knowledge and personal growth that would inspire and motivate my students. I would model lifelong learning by constantly seeking new ideas, exploring different perspectives, and sharing my intellectual journey. In addition, I brought my authentic self to the classroom, creating an atmosphere of trust and openness. I encourage my students to be authentic in expressing their thoughts and opinions, fostering a culture of respect and acceptance. Knowing that every student is unique, I would adapt my teaching methods and approaches to different learning styles and needs. I would be open to suggestions and willing to change my strategies to ensure the best learning outcomes for my students. In addition, I would believe in the growth and development potential of both myself and my students. I encourage a mindset that embraces challenges, perseveres through setbacks, and sees failure as an opportunity to learn and grow. I feel the importance of personal qualities, both in myself and in students. Being open and adaptable is important to me. This allows me to take on different perspectives and adapt my teaching methods to the needs of individual students. About my students, personality traits affect how I approach teaching; their motivation level plays an important role. If a student is highly motivated to learn and actively participates in class discussions or activities, I can adapt the curriculum to their interests and offer them more challenging assignments. By incorporating these personal qualities into my teaching practice, I would create a dynamic and engaging classroom that supports the growth and development of my students in the future.
I have set myself several goals to ensure the holistic development of my students. First, my main goal is to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued and motivated to learn. I believe that education should not only focus on academic excellence but also on cultivating critical thinking, empathy, and creativity. My goal is to create a classroom environment that fosters critical thinking, curiosity, and creativity. I encourage my students to question, challenge, and explore ideas, as this helps them develop their own unique perspective on life. Engage them in meaningful conversation and give them opportunities to express their thoughts freely. Another goal could be to instill in students a love of lifelong learning. Encourage them to reflect on the purpose and significance of their existence, and guide them in finding their own unique path. Engage them in philosophical discussions and expose them to a variety of perspectives, allowing them to develop their own philosophical outlook on life. Help them see the value of education beyond the classroom and inspire them to continue to seek knowledge and growth long after I leave the classroom. Be the one to encourage them to pursue their passions and interests and direct them to resources and experiences that support their personal and spiritual growth. In addition, I strive to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. And I foster a sense of community and empathy among my students by fostering respect for diversity and celebrating individual differences. By doing this, I not only create space for personal growth but also help my students develop the skills they need to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world. Another goal could be to promote a mindset of sustainability and growth in our students. Help them understand that failures and challenges are opportunities for growth and learning. Encourage them to accept failure as a stepping stone to success and teach them strategies to overcome obstacles. By building resilience, I empower my students to navigate through life and challenges with confidence and determination. In addition, I try to increase the sense of social responsibility and active citizenship of my students. Teach them the importance of empathy, compassion, and ethical decision-making. Encourage them to actively participate in their communities and inspire them to make a positive impact on the world around them. By developing a sense of social responsibility, I help my students see the value of advancing the greater good. To achieve these goals, it is important to adopt a student-centered approach to teaching. Tailor my lessons to the unique needs and interests of my students and provide opportunities for hands-on learning and real-world applications. I am open to suggestions, adapt my teaching methods accordingly, and always strive to improve. In addition, it is important to build strong relationships with your future students based on trust, respect, and empathy. Get to know them as individuals, listen to their thoughts and concerns, and offer guidance and support when needed. By creating a nurturing and supportive environment, you help your students succeed academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
As always said, learning is a life-long process since we are learning every day and everywhere in our way. We also learn based on our experiences, beliefs, and values that are imposed on us by the people and community that we belong to. However, I can say that the meaning of learning for me is that learning also occurs by doing things that we can enjoy and move our feelings and interests, which impact us until we go on to our different paths and endeavors. In our lives, we cannot function without the information we must have to strive and survive as human beings continuously. Learning promotes the development and betterment of the world in which we are living, and it is inevitably changing. As I experienced, I learned by doing, since I am also putting myself in the context of a real-life situation that is truly relevant and much more significant. In addition, my experience also contributed to and influenced me to define what the true meaning of learning is: the moment we are born: when we start to learn how to cry, crawl, and breastfeed, it continuously improves until we become aware of what is happening to us every day. Looking at how far I am now, I can say that those lessons from my previous teachers somehow affected me, and with that, I can prove that learning is an essential thing that a child can acquire in his or her life since it creates a bridge to a better future. Relating to and understanding each other's differences is one dimension of learning since learning doesn't just occur and be caged in the classroom setting; it also involves interacting with people and dealing with what is happening in the world. It is knowledge that applies in different contexts to promote personal growth and development, and that is prominent and must be possessed by all since we deserve to learn. My perspective on learning is that we may get it everywhere, but it will depend on how we ingest it, how it will affect us, and whether we will share it with others with compassion and commitment for the sake of having common knowledge with others. First, I want to describe the learning situation. For me, the learning situation must be safe, collaborative, conducive, and inclusive. An effective learning situation is that your students will learn authentic things from your lessons that are truly beneficial and functional for them so that they can be able to apply them to all aspects of his/her life. This is where the learning happens by making an interaction with others such as co-workers, classmates, or family. Sharing common knowledge is an aim for every learning situation which is why different learning styles are also being addressed and catered to so that learning can benefit all. This includes all the necessary and relevant activities, experiences, and lessons that surely enhance and nurture students' skills, talent, and intelligence. Many of these also can be conducted in a learning situation. To begin with, the discussion is crucial to provide input and measures to the learners. In addition to honing productive skills, many performance-based tasks are implemented so that all the fundamental skills will be cultured. Moreover, assessments also measure how effective and how the goal of learning can be achieved. All those mentioned things are important nevertheless what is truly a learning situation for me is that having a sense and respect for each other is also promoted in every learning situation. A learning situation is a multifaceted environment that goes beyond the traditional confines of a classroom. It is a space where individuals grow not just intellectually,
but also emotionally and socially. It is where learning is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about understanding oneself and others. A learning situation, as I have personally experienced, is a space that is both enjoyable and filled with enriching experiences. It serves as an instrument and environment that shapes students' understanding, knowledge, and skills, which in turn play a crucial role in our community and society. The classroom is more than just a physical space- it is a dynamic environment where minds meet, ideas are exchanged, and knowledge is constructed. It is a place where curiosity is kindled, questions are encouraged, and the thirst for knowledge is quenched. It is a place where mistakes are seen as opportunities for learning, and success is celebrated. In a learning situation, relationships and camaraderie are fostered. Students learn to work together, respect each other's ideas, and appreciate the diversity of thoughts and perspectives.Teaching is the noblest profession that a human can choose, it requires passion, commitment, and patience at all times, especially to the students and co-teachers, those are the appealing traits that a teacher must possess which allow them to fully understand and fulfill the profession they chose. Teaching is not only caged in classroom settings, standardized curricula, and conventional ways of imposing and providing knowledge, it can also be a way of sharing valuable knowledge and real-life lessons with students so that they can apply the all necessary skills for real-world situations. In my perception, teaching is providing an avenue for a child to nurture his or her skills and knowledge in preparation for their career and it serves as a fundamental bridge allowing them to develop and be successful in the future. Teachers must not teach just because they were ordered to yet they must be enthusiastic in teaching since the future of our generation lies on their hands. “Teaching always comes with the heart of the one who truly wants to contribute to one’s success” I believe in this, why? teaching should be genuine and spontaneous because that is how students will remember the lesson they acquire from you, not the lesson that they learned from the book. It is the impact that will leave a mark on their hearts until they carry it on. Teaching must be inspirational and interesting, we cannot get their love for learning if we cannot set their mood and motivation to listen and do their very best. Teaching also influences them to look at the world with a desire to attain their dreams and passion that is how powerful teaching is, it invokes and ignites their passion to have knowledge that is significant to them. I will facilitate this process by doing my best all the time, always relating myself to my students so that I will be able to know where they came from or what makes them feel like that. With that, I can say that I will be building a strong connection to get their love for learning because I believe that “learning comes with understanding.” It may be a challenge for me to manage them but with my commitment to helping them understand each other's differences they realize that there are more things they should learn than common kindness. Managing them with compassion is one of my aims to facilitate them since I want to promote a learning and teaching method that will allow them to express themselves without being afraid. That is what I think an effective way to encourage them to learn and be confident. I am going to handle them with professionalism and skills that surely benefit them in learning, those processes that I mentioned also be my guide to assess them in sincere and fundamental aspects for them to live up to. Being a facilitator is an honor and responsibility, we must possess the authority and power to convince them to follow and learn from us, that is how I want to manage my classroom, providing them with a conducive and safe process of learning by teaching efficiently. The thing that I want them to obtain is perspective-taking, why? I want to see it. them being able to put themselves in the shoes of others, understanding is something that I want to see in them learn because that is how I envision the outcome of my teaching and I don’t want them to depend on the book, I have also foreseen them that are respectful, kind, and intelligent by having Communication skill, I can assure that they will be a great speaker who also shares their knowledge and advocacy that they believe are rightful and promotes equality to those who experience it. I expect them to be knowledgeable in English since that is my craft. I want them to utilize English as a medium not only for communication but also to be a representative of our voice that needs to be heard internationally. With all the knowledge I assume for them to learn is sincere. I am also expecting to make better connections with the people around us since they have understood the fact that we are all diverse. In addition, life skills are some things that I want students to obtain and learn by experience. These are the main aspects that I want my students to possess because it is something that will certainly benefit them. I usually hope for them to have a sense of respect and responsibility after we have conducted teaching since that is an essential trait and characteristic that always matters to me and I am genuinely fulfilled knowing in the future that I have contributed to their growth and development. It always excites me to think that my student will learn from me specifically the discipline that will play a big role in their life as well as shapes them to be the better version of themselves, I would also presume them to be more skilled in language usage and they will be more technology dependent but I am willing to them to learn The ability to use technology effectively and efficiently since I already envision that technology will become more advanced and innovative which can be powerful instrument assess them something that they need to search, but I am not promoting them to be dependent on it. I see myself and my future students as having compassion for others because that is how I want them to achieve and not only that but also to have initiatives. The ability to work with others to reach a common goal is one of the notions that I expect after giving them lessons because socialization and connecting to others strengthens relationships and love for helping the people in the community. I want them to have the ability to adjust to new situations and environments since they need to be flexible with the demands of society as well as they will go out of their comfort zone and try new things. My teaching philosophy is like a compass that guides my students’ learning journey. Their specific goals are like the north point on a compass, helping to guide my teaching. These goals ensure that my students gain skills, knowledge, attitudes, and information. Think of these goals as seeds planted in the rich soil of education, ready to grow into a fruitful future. The compass points in a unique direction. I want my students to learn and use that knowledge in their lives. This teaching approach helps them to understand things better, making connections with others in a journey of self-discovery. They become leaders of their thoughts, skillfully using their abilities. In this journey of learning, they become problem-solvers, creating solutions using the tools they have learned from their experiences. This is not just a lesson for now; it’s a plan for lifelong learning. One of my main goals is to help them develop their attitudes, refining them so that they interact well with others outside the classroom, a valuable lesson that will last into the future. My students’ goals are not just checkpoints; they are the foundation of a lifelong journey, encouraging self-discovery and the art of problem-solving. These goals guide them to a future of deep learning, like compass points leading to a destination. Think of these goals as seeds, carefully planted in the soil of education, ready to grow into a rich harvest of skills, knowledge, attitude, and information. As a future English Educator, the activity that I want to implement first is the art of storytelling and theater play since my philosophy reflects relating to the feelings of others and understanding where they are coming from with this activity they will be able to put themselves in the situation where they will know the stories behind those characters they portray that creates a learning of perspective-taking as well as they will know to express themselves creatively, how to comprehend, add some words to their vocabulary, improve their pronunciation, and learn to analyze thing beyond what the story wants to convey. Debate is something that I also want to incorporate as their activity would not only enhance their speaking skills, but it will also improve their research and fact-checking to defend their proportion which is essential since fake news has been very rampant nowadays. In collaborative activities such as case studies wherein they will be conducting a certain problem that they need to analyze as a group, they will all play each other's role and figure out the cause and effect of those certain issues and that will shape their research skills as well as having cooperation with their group mates. Reporting is something that I am looking forward to, I want them to not only discuss a specific topic but also to study it thoroughly and expound their knowledge which surely improves their public speaking. Drills that are relevant such as spelling drills, grammar correction, and sentence diagramming are the activities that I think are essential for them to experience since this would help them be knowledgeable about the complexity of English such as its structure and different parts of speech. implementing this kind of activity in my class certainly benefits them to be skilled, especially in language. However, I aim for them to learn generally not only in one subject but also in different aspects of life.Using an active learning process, I will assess my students with the interactive teaching method since they will be experiencing the actual lesson and activities in which they acquire skills in a way that my teaching philosophy will convince them to be passion-driven and motivated to learn and discover their potential. By giving them an experience and allowing them to be in the actual situation where they can see themselves striving and doing what shapes who they are and will be in the future. This kind of philosophy scaffolds me to be a better teacher and gives me a chance to be equipped to facilitate them in a manner that I will always be understanding and professional at all times, especially in my classroom. The inclusivity and safety of my class’ well-being are what I am prioritizing. Nevertheless, I do not want to tolerate attitudes and behaviors that are not appropriate and harmful. Giving them a task that is conducive to them, so that they all have involvement in the common knowledge that everyone must have. My teaching philosophy promotes growth not only academic as well as personal growth with the methods that I will be applying, this will be a foundation for them to be disciplined, educated, and well-mannered. Aligning to learning by doing, while my philosophy is learning by relating, and experiencing also harnesses my future students to be students who are sensitive, respectful, and aware of what is happening beyond the classroom and introduces them to reality. In my teaching journey, I aspire to embody compassion, a trait I believe is outstanding. I want my students to understand that kindness and goodness are invaluable lessons to learn. By demonstrating these qualities, I hope to influence them positively. Fairness and consideration are other significant traits I aim to possess. I am aware that my students look up to me, and they must see me treating them with understanding and love. This approach makes it easier to manage and motivates them to learn. I also strive to instill determination and passion in my students. Despite the struggles, hindrances, and obstacles they face, I encourage them to persevere and remain driven to achieve their dreams. Moreover, I believe humor is an essential characteristic. I plan to incorporate it into my teaching methods because I believe that for students to learn effectively and efficiently, they must enjoy the process. A comfortable and interesting discussion stimulates students to be more active and invested in the lesson. This approach not only makes them crave more knowledge but also leaves a lasting impact.
They will remember the lessons with a smile, associating learning with joy and satisfaction. In this way, I hope to inspire a lifelong love of learning in my students, equipping them with the tools they need to navigate the world confidently and compassionately. Those mentioned characteristics which are compassion, fairness, determination, passion, and humor are the characteristics I aim to embody and instill in my students. These traits, I believe, will make them not only successful learners but also kind and
considerate individuals. My goal is to be more enthusiastic and to strive for professional development for this kind of field, since learning is a life-long process i need to catch up to the changes that happens in our educational system. My objectives are to be effective, proactive, and responsible because I think those are significant qualities that I have to possess, in order for me to be capable of handling my students. I want to manage my time really well and consume it to something that is more significant work especially in the work hours. Maintaining a good connection with my co-teachers also the thing that I am looking up on, having a good communication with them helps us to create a advocacy that will improve and assess students and our work ethics. looking at how this profession goes, I believe that I cannot also forget to help for my community specifically to those whose in need like the children that are experiencing inequality and cannot afford to study by assisting them to read, write, and speak for themselves. I want to be a teacher who they can rely on, tell them what are the things that bothers them and someone who will protect them at all cost that is how I envision my role as a teacher for them. My desire to be a teacher wants me to become better, i want to fit to the qualifications that this profession is
demanding, I want to use my voice to create changes and share knowledge towards one thing which is to provide an education that they deserve. I am able to accomplish those with the commitment, passion, and determination that allows me to strive harder and ignite my burning desire to bring those aspect and goals which serves as my instrument to create changes and form something new for my students to learn base on how they want to learn. those goals help me to be guided and aligned with what I really aim for, and with that, it will equipped me to do better, to love what I am doing despite all those hardship and hindrances that will get in my way for as long as i have a heart who really want to pursue education and adhere to this goals, nothing is impossible, conquering those challenges and issues would not be easy, but with my courage and inspiration to be one of the teachers I am able to do so. Ofcourse with the help of the people around me those goals and objectives that I want makes me able to accomplish this because as I look at them they also once a student and because of I have seen, experienced and put myself to their situation I was able to be moved and push me to dream higher same with my students and ethics as a teacher, I decided to take this profession seriously and full of motivation and ambition to let them see who I am and learn from it, I solemnly pledge to my future self, who will be a passionate teacher, to steadfastly commit to securing the future of my students.
In the dynamics of life, learning is one thing that all of us go through. It is full of countless experiences that shape an individual. From the moment we are born to the lifelong pursuit of knowledge, it is something that is already tattooed on our souls as humans. Learning, for me, means sharing, exploring, and taking new ideas, concepts, and information. It is an active process where people constantly add something to what they already know while using that knowledge as their foundation. Learning means participating and engaging in critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and it goes beyond gaining insights about things and observing what lies on earth. To me, learning is making yourself aware of how the world works, and knowing how to address timely challenges and issues that are being faced by our society. Learning means being able to navigate, improve, or develop your cognitive and intellectual skills and understand how to apply what you've learned to real-world individual needs and demands. It is knowing how to reconstruct what is already established; the ideas, norms, stereotypes, etc., as well as serve as an agent of change. Learning means adapting to diversity, accepting and acknowledging the differences we have in this ever-evolving world. I believe that these things can be encompassed by education, or any aspect that develops wisdom. A learning situation, where both teachers and students are fascinated with learning, can enrich it. A learning situation with the presence of a mutual relationship between the teacher and students. With teachers having the role of the facilitator, the students go through a journey of independence through self-discovery and grasping knowledge from anyone they interact with. With this type of learning situation, it is not impossible that learning will achieve its greatest goal, which is to impart knowledge that's timeless and practical. However, learning doesn't mean getting something right on the first go. A learning environment must have no room for judgment. All the misconceptions must be erased, while the mistakes are corrected and altered. It is important that you are open to criticism and corrections when you are learning. According to a saying, “Experience is the best lesson”. It's always been, and always will, so whenever you make a mistake, you should not dwell on it too much. You just have to remember that you learned through that experience of making a mistake and that will be your best lesson. Some people chose the teaching profession, maybe because they were told and pressured to do so. Perhaps someone has inspired them to go along this path, or they really wanted to become a teacher. Whatever and regardless of the cause, I believe that how they ended up being in the teaching profession, is because they chose to stay. It is because they are meant to be here, and it is their mission to serve. Teaching, for me, is not just a societal role, but a responsibility and a mission. It is not just a simple job that allows you to teach what the syllabus is telling you to teach. It is not merely a designation, power, or authority that you can hold against someone. Teaching is a responsibility and a mission. It is the teacher's responsibility to be able to impart knowledge and wisdom to other people. Teaching means being able to help other people to learn, be more independent, and attain skills and knowledge which will allow them to be ready to face the challenges they'd have to face in the future. To facilitate this process in teaching, someone has to be ready and have the courage to face his or her responsibility, obligation and this mission. You must be ready to face diversity and a variety of people with different personalities, attitudes and attributes. You must be ready to cater to them equally and appropriately. As to myself, if I were to be given a ‘position’ to be teaching, I would like to do it with passion and determination and with respect to the people who allowed me and supported me to be there. I would want my instructions to be more inclusive and blind. Blind, in a way that I don't look or think about who I could be teaching or so. I want to treat them equally and in a way that will allow them to learn not only the academic lessons, not merely stick to the subject-matter content, or attain those literacy and competence skills they are expected to attain. I want to engage the students more in real-world problem-solving activities while also being in a comfortable and cooperative learning environment. I will facilitate teaching not only by giving them input that's enough to trigger their unbothered minds when it comes to their surroundings or being able to affect them mentally and emotionally, but instead, it is by letting them learn from their own experiences, as that will ensure that they are actively engaged to a comfortable and practical approach of learning as that is also a way for them to become open-minded to the world and people around them.In teaching, we must also set our expectations for our students while keeping in mind that all of those expectations and goals must be attainable for their level and the subject. Some goals that I have set for my students are for them to acquire critical thinking and problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to apply their learnings to real-world situations. I am aiming for them to foster social awareness and use what they've learned in my subject as their foundation and guide to solve the challenges they will have to face in the future. We can attain those goals we have set by implementing activities, tasks, projects, and such that focus on real-world situations. Activities that will continuously improve and enhance their skills and will help them on their journey of growth. Some of the activities or tasks we can implement are anything that focuses on the students, their peers, the community, and such. It can be tasks that are inquiry or project-based, collaborative group activities, and so on. I aim to give them activities that are practical enough for them to use in any real-life challenges. I will also encourage them to use their own experiences as a tool to enhance their learning process as it will encourage their curiosity, and allow them to work with other people through discussions, be it by partner or by group. Activities like these will not only give them a deeper understanding of the subject, they will also help them to improve their social skills, which eventually creates a fruitful and comfortable learning environment for the teachers and the learners themselves. In taking the path of teaching, we should have a commitment and dedication to our principles and I think it starts with having a clear and strong statement of values and beliefs that guide us in this profession. To operationalize those principles, we can start by setting our objectives that will serve as our basis in lesson planning and bringing them to life via instructions. We must develop and implement a learning environment that incorporates those values without compromising the lessons that we are aiming to teach. Be open for criticism, seek feedback and reflect on your teaching methods and practices. We can also engage in discussions that align with our educational beliefs as it will help enhance our skills and ability as a teacher. We should always do our best to ensure that our approach and methods align to the core principles of our philosophy. Most importantly, as a teacher, we should be able to demonstrate and present to our students the customs and beliefs that we want and expect to see in them, as we will serve as role models to those children. The changes must start with us, and we will be the first to show what and how the things we teach are put into practice. After listing the goals and expectations for my students, of course, this paper will not end without listing my goals for myself as a teacher as well, because in everything we do, we must always set our visions or goals. Why? because those goals are what will keep us going and pushing through. That is the reason why we must also do our best to attain or achieve them, as it will kindle the fire that's already burning inside our body, heart, and soul. As for myself as a teacher, the goals I have set for myself is to provide my students with a positive, comprehensive, and dynamic learning environment. It is my responsibility to make sure they understand what I ought to teach them, and it is my obligation to facilitate their learning. It is also my goal to promote their engagement and participation in class by making the classroom more ‘student-centered’. I aim to give my students an environment that adapts to individual needs, by incorporating their own real-life experiences. It is also my goal to continually reflect on, and adapt to other teaching methods using the feedback I get from my students and evolve my teaching processes. To live these goals and beliefs, I need to make sure that I am constantly improving myself too. I need to assure my students that what I am teaching them is credible and worthy of trust by showing them that I am reliable myself. I can do this by doing my responsibility as a professional, which is by continuously seeking professional development courses and practices. Aside from understanding and analyzing your students’ needs, I think seeking professional development is also an important goal for me as an educator.
Learning is a process for human beings, wherein we grasp information, ideas, and concepts. From that knowledge, we apply it in real-life scenarios to solve or overcome a problem or difficulty in life. Learning is a crucial part of a child's life, which is why proper guidance and authorized people should do it. A child's learning development must be supported at a young age so that their cognitive development will be supervised and all the information that will be given to them is appropriate for their age. Authorized people should conduct the learning process because they have the knowledge and license to do it. Teaching is not an easy task to do because you must consider all the factors that can affect the child's learning, such as behavioral factors, emotional factors, environmental factors, etc. During a learning situation, a student will be able to learn new knowledge because of the new situation that they're given. Their minds will be fed various information that will trigger their curiosity to know more about life. During this stage, the educators may face various challenges due to the child's learning capacity. For example, some children tend to learn faster and others do not, and that is what teachers should always keep in mind. Consider all the factors that affect your students learning development and be diverse to cater to their differences. Children's are very unique from one another, not just because of their physical features or nationality but because of their own learning capacity. So as educators, we must prepare ourselves mentally and physically to employ different teaching techniques and strategies to achieve effective education and always do our best to help them. Show them that you do really understand them, especially when they are facing problems or difficulties, because it will create connections, which is important in the learning process because it will motivate the child for further development because they know that you have their back, and it will help them not be scared to actively participate or commit mistakes. It is important to teach them that learning is not all about acquiring it fast; learning is about applying what you learn, and I also think that it is a must for educators to teach students that making mistakes is part of learning. Why did I say so? Because, based on my own experience, I actually find it scary to make mistakes, especially when you are in a classroom setting. I always tend to bombard myself with ideas such as "I must not do it wrong," "I shouldn't commit mistakes," and "I should always be right," because those ideas will hinder the student’s development in various areas. As an educator, we must not only teach them what is written in the book, but we must also teach them moral lessons and teach them to become human beings who know how to make connections, know what others feel, and know what is good and bad.Teaching is the process of passing or imparting knowledge to one another, but I believe teaching is all about creating an environment where learning is fun and engaging. It was not just about stating written facts but also encouraging students to actively participate, such as by asking and answering questions. Teaching also requires patience and understanding to recognize that everyone has their own way of learning, which can be through verbal, written, visual presentations, or physical movement. Teaching is not an easy job; it will drain your whole body because of the challenges that you will encounter. It can be in your family, environment, or resources. That is why you must be 100% ready for all the possibilities that might happen. Becoming a teacher takes a lot; what I mean by a lot is everything. Mentally and emotionally ready for situations that you didn't expect to happen. Physically, for times that your health will affect your ability to work, and financially, for all the resources and other stuff that you need to provide, not just for yourself but also for your students. Actually, there is a stereotype for educators: they're just here to stand in front and discuss the lesson, but in reality, it is not just that. That was just part of what they really do. People do not see the other side of being a teacher; this side is hidden that educators and future educators will battle with. Although all jobs and fields are not easy because there's no easy job in this world, being a teacher is truly hard and remarkable, which is why it is called a noble profession. As a teacher, I will facilitate the teaching process by using my own teaching strategy, which is student-centered. I believe in the power of willingness and the importance of creating a pressure-free learning environment. That’s why my teaching approach focuses on understanding that every student is unique, with their own strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. I will prioritize the student’s willingness to engage in the activities I provide, which recognizes that true learning comes from children's interest and engagement, not from pressure or fear. I will strive to provide a supportive, encouraging, and conducive classroom environment for exploration and self-growth. I understand that learning is a journey, and it's not about reaching a destination as quickly as possible. Therefore, I do not pressure my students to learn at a pace that is uncomfortable for them; instead, I will encourage them to take their time, explore different subjects until they choose one that intrigues them, and ask questions without fear of judgement, especially since my major is English. So many students are scared or find this subject hard to handle. As a future educator, I'm expecting a lot of my students to obtain skills as a result of their learning. Those expectations are for their own good, and these expectations will serve as my meter to see if I'm an effective teacher. The first skill that I'm expecting is their reading comprehension. My students should be able to understand and interpret the English language, whether it is literature, textbooks, or articles. This skill will serve as their foundation to further improve their critical thinking skills, and it will enable them to develop more skills. Second, writing skills. I want them to have mastery over expressing themselves, no matter what their purpose, thoughts, or ideas are, as long as they are clear and coherent, because writing is an essential skill that we use in our everyday lives. Third are their speaking and listening skills. My students must be skilled in speaking English fluently and understanding spoken English because it is crucial for English learners, especially since it is our second language. Last is cultural understanding; this skill should be acquired by them because language and culture are linked together, and this will help the student use language appropriately and effectively. Those skills will influence my students to use the English language in real-life situations, which will teach them that it is okay to make mistakes without fear. This can improve their language skills and confidence.Setting goals for my students is very important to assess if they really learn something from my teaching method. This process should be collaborative and student-centered to align with my teaching philosophy. I'll be setting four goals for my students. The first is to develop critical thinking skills, which will encourage my students to think critically and independently. This can be achieved by engaging in discussions, asking and answering questions, problem-solving tasks, and creative projects. The second is to promote lifelong learning. It is important to instill learning beyond the classroom setting; this will ignite a spark for their curiosity and encourage them to explore their personal interests. Teaching students lifelong lessons will help them understand the value of life and how to resolve problems in it. Third is improving communication skills; this is an essential key factor in life to have skills in public speaking, active listening, and effective writing that are beneficial. The last is to develop teamwork and collaboration. Learning to work in teams is a valuable skill that will enhance the team-building skills of students. This is important so that they can't be selfish, or they will learn how to ask for help in situations where they find it difficult to deal with them, and they will also neglect the idea of being self-centered as they grow, which is a normal part of life. The activities and tasks that I will implement in order to attain the goals I set are debates, case studies, and brain teasers that will develop their critical thinking skills. I will also conduct independent research projects on topics they're passionate about to foster their love for learning and exploration, which targets their lifelong learning. I will also organize public speaking contests, writing competitions, and active listening exercises to improve their communication skills. The last are group projects, team sports, and collaborative problem-solving tasks to encourage teamwork and collaboration. My teaching philosophy is called "Nurwil." It derives from the phrase "Nurturing Willingness." This approach focuses on nurturing willingness, fostering love for learning, and creating a pressure-free environment for my students. Operationalizing my teaching philosophy inside the classroom involves putting my own beliefs into action. Here are my steps that I will take to operationalize my teaching philosophy: first, I will get to know my students. I will take the time to understand their uniqueness through their strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles because it will help me plan what teaching methods I should employ and what activities will suit their needs as individuals. Second, I will create a supportive classroom environment. Since my subject is English, many students will find it hard, especially to speak in front of others or to read. That is why I need to foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture so students will feel safe, supported, and encouraged to take risks. Establishing clear rules and expectations will promote respect for one another, collaboration, and open communication. The third is to incorporate student-centered activities. I will design lessons and activities that will motivate my students to actively participate, and I will allow them the freedom to take ownership of their learning. This will surely encourage them to ask questions, express their opinions, and share their ideas by using the English language. The fourth is to provide constructive feedback. Giving feedback to students will allow them to monitor their own progress, efforts, and areas that they need to improve. This will give them a growth mindset about the importance of learning from mistakes and embracing challenges. The last is for myself, which is to continuously reflect and adapt. I must regularly reflect on my teaching practices and assess their effectiveness in meeting my teaching philosophy. As an educator, I must also know how to seek feedback from my students and co-teachers to gain different feedback and perspectives to make adjustments or improvements. What influenced me in making this teaching philosophy was my own personal experiences. As a student, I experience doing a lot of things at school, and there are times that I don't really want to do them, but I still do them because I must comply with all the requirements, activities, and performances for me to be able to pass my subjects. As I grow up, I realize that my willingness to learn something is very important because it will make my learning last a lifetime. Students willingness to learn will result in effective application of what they learn in real-life situations. Another factor is pressure. If students are put under a lot of pressure as they continue their education, their learning will be affected because pressure will hinder them from fully showcasing their abilities. Having pressure will put them in a box; it will hide their full potential, and they will lose opportunities in life. These are the main reasons why I came up with my teaching philosophy. As a teacher, I will have goals to set for myself, such as providing accurate information and helpful formations. As a teacher, one of my primary responsibilities is to ensure that the information I provide is reliable or factual. This is very important because the information that we impart to our students will become their knowledge, which they will have for a lifetime. What will happen if the information that we get from them is not reliable or factual? It will cause them confusion, and they may find it hard to believe in other information that they have from other people. I can achieve this goal by making sure that I do proper research for all the lessons that I will discuss in the future and by also making sure that I use credible resources from the internet or actual books that are reliable. Another goal is to support my student’s educational journeys. I know that every student is unique in their own way and may have different needs and learning styles. By offering support and guidance, I can assist my students in overcoming challenges and difficulties that they may encounter while learning. I believe that giving support to students will help them navigate their educational journey with confidence and success. It is also motivating to see that your teacher is not just a teacher but also a friend you can talk to and have fun with, as well as a parent who will guide you for your own good. Another goal is to create an engaging and interactive learning environment. The learning process should not only be centered on the idea of being serious and formal; instead, it should be an enjoyable and interactive experience. This will promote
active learning and will surely help the students retain information more effectively. I can achieve this goal by implementing fun activities that are incorporated into the topics that I will teach them, so they will find it interesting to participate or engage. I will also set a goal to foster critical thinking and creativity. As a 21st century teacher, I must break the stereotypes in the field of education, which are that education is about memorizing facts and articles, which is not; it's about developing essential skills such as critical thinking and creativity. By encouraging my students to think critically, they will be able to analyze different information and solve problems, which will help them become independent learners who can apply their knowledge in real-life situations. The last goal is a very hard yet very helpful one: to cultivate a love for learning. This is quite challenging, but worth it to achieve. By creating a positive and supportive learning environment, I can inspire my students to develop a genuine love for learning. When students are curious and motivated, they are more likely to explore more topics and ask questions, and they will continue their educational journey beyond the classroom.
When we hear the word learning, it is not about how we sit in class and listen to our professor the moment he or she opens his or her laptop and starts the lecture or how we take notes of every detail written on the board or PowerPoint presentation to have something to review and remember for us to be able to ace the exams later on. Learning means how we grasp the teachings our professor gave to us in every discussion, may it be new learning about society, sciences, law, skills, literature, or the arts, and how we could apply them in our real-life situation and put those learnings that we acquired into action. Just like a tree without its necessity; water, humans are also nothing without learning. Learning is a process of how we acquire things, from basic to complex ones, that could change our lives for the better and flourish in time, just like how a tree blooms with its leaves, flowers, and fruits because of water, sunlight, and other factors. Learning is a trial-and-error process that all of us go through in our lives. There are times that the things we learn might be helpful and can make the trajectory of our lives right and steady, while there are times that our learnings put us on the wrong path, just like how people use their intelligence and learnings to invent things to harm and do inhumane acts. I believe that learning is about how we make up its purpose in our lives, not just by simply letting all the learning be stuck in our minds for a long time. In a learning situation or setup, the process is basic. The student will sit in the class, bring out his or her notebook and pen, listen to the professor, take down notes, and process the lesson and things that the professor said during the discussion. There will be a recitation and then a quiz. It is what people usually think when they think about the usual learning situation or set-up, but it is more than that. In a learning situation, there are a lot of things to consider when we think about how the learning situation goes or works. In the morning, before the students step inside the classroom, they will prepare themselves for the discussion. They are thinking about another day and another lecture that they will be facing. During the class, the learning process goes by how they try to get or acquire information and ideas from what their professor is discussing in front of the class. Next, how they will comprehend the information given to them and how they will make sense of it for them to use it or apply it in every activity given to them after the discussion. Then, after the discussion and application of learnings, the situation will be the professor giving feedback on the tasks and outputs the students have passed, and the students will also reflect on the feedback that their professor gave to do better next time. There are times that learning situations go in a tough way, where students become overwhelmed by piles of work, but it is just how learning works. The teacher will not give the students work that is not relevant to their course or lesson objectives.Looking back, we have tackled vocation, mission, and profession. I believe that those three words summarize what teaching is. Teaching is not an easy job or occupation, and not everyone has the privilege to pursue it. First, teaching is a vocation or a call that was sent to the chosen people who are destined to teach and have a heart for it. It is also a mission that needs sacrifices to be fulfilled and accomplished. In addition to that, teaching is a profession that requires educators to undergo a life-long journey that stands for the quote, “Once a teacher, always a student.”. The moment we graduate and become teachers, we expect that the learning will not stop there. Next, teaching requires us to study over and over again in order to refresh our memory and knowledge every now and then and to give that knowledge to our students as well. While we need to study our lesson to know and review things and information that we need to teach and give them, our students or our future students also anticipate those things and information they will get from us during our discussion. Teaching is not as easy as talking in front and giving seatwork to our students. It requires a lot of energy, motivation, passion, and strength to teach students and give them the knowledge they need to be the people who will be the hope of the future society. Moreover, teaching is a responsibility, not only to our work but to our students’ lives. We are one of those people who are responsible for building their knowledge, path, and dreams. As a pre-service teacher, there are some ways I can handle this process as a teacher. First, I will always keep in mind that my chosen profession is not easy and should not be taken for granted. There are times that I will surely think about giving this profession up because of the struggles it might give me every now and then, so I need to always remind myself that I have been through a lot to get here, and I need to be thankful for every opportunity given to me. Next, I will focus on my goal, which is teaching. I want my students to learn things by doing it themselves, may it be through reporting, experimenting, or writing academic papers. I will always make sure that I am doing my lesson objectives properly and that they should be beneficial to my students’ learning at all times. Lastly, I would like the process of my teaching journey to be as fun as possible. If the learning environment that I can make for my students is conducive and lively, I can be a teacher who will not make them feel that it is hard to learn, especially since I may be teaching English in the future. I would like them to learn not just by me being the knowledge dispenser but to learn by themselves and me as their guide. I believe that my teaching journey will be bearable and that I can handle the process of becoming the teacher that I want to be as long as I can keep in mind these ways and live up to them.As an English teacher, it is expected that I will be teaching literature, vocabulary, grammar, and other topics about English. People will think that literature is boring and is all about knowing these classic books and authors. As an English teacher, I want and am expecting my students to know how to use English correctly, not in an instant but gradually, as I will also exert effort in teaching them to master the English language. It is really hard to learn English, and it takes a long time for us, non-native speakers, to master it as a whole, with all its complex and arbitrary rules. Next, I expect my students to learn the skills of literal and inferential comprehension as early as possible. If they can learn it early, they will master it over time, and the learning process will be easy. Comprehension skills are one of the most important skills that I want my students to learn with my help. I believe that future generations must develop these important skills in order to be wise. In addition to that, as I am aware that students are diverse, I will be expecting that the skills that my students will acquire at the end of every lesson will be different. Some may excel in public speaking, some in academic papers, some may develop their critical thinking skills, and so on. I will not be expecting them to improve at the same pace but rather view their differences as a factor in considering their abilities to develop their skills in time with the help of my supervision. In my English class, I would like to expect my students to bring out their creativity when it comes to expressing themselves through a variety of activities that they can present in class. I will let them sing, dance, do poetry, or even paint if this is the way that they can express their creativity using the English language and symbolism. Aside from those skills that I will be expecting them to acquire that are relevant to the English subject that I will be teaching, I would like to expect them to be collaborative and participative in my class. Now and then, I will be requiring my students to work with their classmates to accomplish certain tasks according to our lesson objectives, and they need to be participative and to collaborate. I would like to use it as a chance for those introverted students to work with others as well, rather than working on their own at all times. Socialization is important for them to develop their collaboration skills with their classmates in every activity that I will be giving them. Lastly, I will expect them to be independent and responsible individuals who seek the continuous improvement that they need. I want them to learn how to be accountable for their learning, how to manage their time to comply with all the school requirements that they have, and how to motivate themselves to always aim for improvements in everything that they do. Although attaining these expectations will surely be difficult since the generation of children nowadays has a short attention span and patience when it comes to learning, what more about the future generation? Nevertheless, I would like to be optimistic about this.As an English teacher, it is important to set my goals for my specialized subject. The goals that I have in mind for my students are: first, I want them to develop reading habits. I would like to encourage them to read books, especially English books, whether they are fiction or nonfiction, that will capture their interest and encourage them to read more. For instance, I will announce a Book Talk Friday in which every Friday the person assigned to share his or her chosen storybook will share what they have read in front of the class. They will share a short background of the book and its brief plot. That way, I can make them read as a routine or habit since every Friday they need to present one story in my class. Secondly, I want them to improve their vocabulary. This is connected to the previous goal I stated. Connected with their Book Talk Friday, I want them to have Word of the Day, in which they will share one or two unfamiliar words from the story they have read and present it in class. For example, the student will post a bond paper with unfamiliar words and their definition written on it on the board before proceeding to present his or her storybook for our Book Talk Friday. I chose Friday as the day that we will be having this Word of the Day since I want them to have something when they go home. They have a lot of new words that will stay with them until the weekend, and they can use them in the next week of our meeting at school. Next, I want them to improve their writing skills as well. Using proper word tenses, punctuation, and grammar rules in writing formal and informal writing outputs is important, and I want my students to attain this goal by giving them writing drills every week. For instance, I will give some simple and compound sentences with some missing words or punctuation that they need to fill in. This is a simple drill, yet with constant practice, the students will surely improve and master it. Then, the next goal is that I want them to be proactive in my class. I mentioned in the previous part that I want them to be participative and collaborative in my class, and that includes their overall performance. I want them to do well in public speaking through class reporting, and I also want them to participate in recitation or to give their ideas during our discussion now and then. Last but not least, I want them to create goals for themselves. I would like to encourage students to create a to-do list and set goals for how they will accomplish those tasks on their list. For instance, I told them to create a to-do list and inform them about the pleasure of crossing out those tasks on the list now and then. Somehow, in that way, they will be motivated to create a study habit that will be beneficial for them. Overall, those are the goals that I have for my students and the activities, outputs, or projects that I would like to implement to attain the goals that I have listed. Not just by teaching in front of the class or presenting instructional materials now and then, I want to operationalize my teaching profession in a way that I will let my students work hands-on with the activities that I will be giving them. I want them to experience things and learn from them. In the teaching that I believe in, teaching should not just be me, as a teacher, giving my students all the learning they need and being a knowledge dispenser to them. Inside the classroom, it should be harmonized, and everyone should be collaborative in every activity. Instead of having long discussions every day or every week, I would like my students to have activities like writing technical or academic papers using the proper grammar, punctuation, and overall correct structure of the academic text. Aside from that, we can also do some phonics drills to train them in pronouncing or enunciating letters or words not only correctly but as accurately and fluently as possible. I also believe that the students will not be able to learn English effectively if they do not know how to use it or apply what they know in a real-life situation or context. Using an experiential method, I also want them to discuss the lesson in front of others to train their public speaking skills and boost their affective skills, which can help them learn more than just reading books or listening to discussions. My class should be interactive, and the learning should be two-way. I will teach them how to do certain tasks, and they will perform those tasks for me to assess their learning, whether it is in the form of written outputs or performances. As a teacher, I also have these characteristics that will surely influence my students and my teaching approach. First, I like everything to be organized. If this certain lesson or topic should be discussed on this particular day or week, it should be done, and my students should be able to follow this routine that I will be implementing to also condition them on how the organization of tasks and work should be done. Secondly, I get overwhelmed with a lot of lectures. I want to give myself a break now and then, and that is also what I want for my students. I do not want them to be overwhelmed and bombarded with the lesson that we are discussing inside the class. That is why, as much as possible, if I can create an activity connected to our topics that requires them to move or be physically active rather than just be confined to their seats, I would do it. As a teacher who teaches and also studies lessons that we give to other students, we get overwhelmed and tired as well. What more for our students, who are just starting to understand the concepts and ideas of the lesson that we are teaching them? From what I have learned, “teaching does not necessarily cause learning.” We should also consider the learning environment that we are providing to our students. Next, I do not want to do everything by myself. With that being said, I want my students to be teachers in class aside from me from time to time. I cannot do everything by myself all the time, and I cannot just teach them lessons, and then my students just sit in the class without ensuring that they are getting the learning that I am giving them and also to ensure that the skills that I want them to develop are being acquired and nurtured by my students as our discussion progresses. Lastly, I am a perfectionist. I have high expectations when it comes to my outputs, and I will be expecting my students to do a good job and to give me quality outputs as well. I want them to give their best and exert the efforts that they need to give in every task or performance that I will be giving them. I will not be expecting a hundred perfect outputs because I know that everything has a limitation. Nevertheless, as a
perfectionist teacher, I will be expecting a lot from my students—to do a better job at all times and bring out their talents and creativity in doing their tasks and activities in my class.
Aside from all of those expectations and goals that I have for my students, I would also like to have some for myself and think of ways on how I will be accomplishing those goals and expectations that I will be having for myself as a teacher. First, I would like this one in my goals: be proactive. It means I want myself to be more active in doing my job and providing solutions in my personal circumstances when it comes to teaching rather than ignoring things and having uncontrollable consequences later on, and if there is something that I know I can do and accomplish within the time frame given to me, I will do it right away as long as I can. I want myself to lessen the procrastination. In accomplishing this goal, I try some track notes or any apps that can help and motivate me to organize and keep on track when it comes to my tasks and for me to accomplish them actively without attempting to procrastinate. The second goal that I have for myself is to focus on my job as a teacher and the essence of what teaching is. Every now and then I will feel burned out and tired, but I would like myself to be as strong and passionate about my profession as possible. I will always remind myself that I am doing this job not only to pursue the profession that I have started but also to give my service to the community and to the children who need me as their teacher. To accomplish this goal, I will reward myself when I feel like I accomplished something that I did not expect to be done by myself. Giving myself some rewards will help me boost my passion and avoid being burned out because of the nature of my profession. Next, I want to be more kind and approachable. I am aware that I look intimidating and that people are somehow afraid to approach me, but I do not want my students to see me as a teacher who is not kind or unapproachable. I do not have a sense of humor, but I want my students to feel comfortable with me as their teacher by being kind and approachable to them when needed. In accomplishing this goal, maybe I can be more soft-spoken, and I will try to smile more so that my students will not be scared to approach me and will not think that I will be judging them in everything that they do in my class. I am not the type of teacher who smiles and laughs a lot, but I will try my best to be the kind and approachable teacher that I want myself to be. Then, I would like to create quality output at all times. I have mentioned in the previous part that I am a perfectionist and that I will have high expectations for my students. When it comes to quality outputs, I will be expecting them not only for my students but for myself as well. I should be the role model that shows my students how someone creates quality output. I cannot expect them to do a good job and give me quality outputs and performances if I cannot also show and give the same quality to the lesson, approach, and instructional materials that I am giving to them. In accomplishing this, I will allot ample time to do certain tasks that I have, and I will exert effort in creating my lesson plan. I will not procrastinate and compromise the quality of my output as a teacher, and I will give my best as well. Lastly, it is my goal to be fair at all times. I need to be objective when making decisions regarding issues or situations involving my students or the work itself. In accomplishing this goal, I need and must not be influenced by emotions and try to be fair at all times, not only for the sake of my students and my professionbut for my own dignity as a teacher.
Learning is very crucial on each learner. This is a non-stop progress wherein as the time goes by the knowledge of the students are increasing. Learning is a process, and it takes time for us to learn new things in our daily lives—new knowledge that our teachers impart to us—so it doesn’t just end when a student completes a year level. It continues all throughout the passing of time, from the time a student spends in his studies to his daily lifestyle. Furthermore, we have a responsibility to learn even if our teachers assist us in doing so. This is because learning is a process that are given, and if we don’t take an action, we won’t be able to build on the knowledge we have already acquired from them. As we learn, we are mentally digesting new information and knowledge. We may put that information to use every day in our lives—at home, at school, and in our society. In addition to learning from our teachers in the classroom, we may also learn via watching news, reading articles, newspapers, advocating causes, viewing infographics, and many other sources. All of these methods helps us to become more conscious of our environment. And in doing so, we learn recent and relevant knowledge that will enable us to keep informed about the state of the world. Learning is a process that leads to development as well since, after we pick up a new skill, we put it into practice in order to affect our surroundings. Learning is a continuous process that lasts a lifetime. Every piece of knowledge we pick up must be put to use as a signal to ourselves that we have gained knowledge from others and that is a product of a learning environment. What we learn needs to be put into practice, not merely something we just say to ourselves. All in all, learning is very important on every individual, this plays a vital role in our lives. We must understand the nature of learning for us to apply it in our daily lives. We must understand that this is not just a mere information that we can set aside but this has something to do with ourselves. That this is a process wherein we must acquire to enhance our abilities on something that we have learned. Learning could also reflect in our decisions and actions as a sign that a learning process is within us. If we make mistakes, we learn from it and as a sign that we really learn from it is that we will not make the same mistake again. In education, learning is very essential part on every learner because they need it when understanding a lesson and we can also notice that a student learns by applying the information they received in their everyday lives. Learning is a process and does not stop when we do not want to, we encounter this everyday therefore we must give importance to it and not to disregard it.Teaching is transferring knowledge and information from one person to another. If in the process of learning, students absorb new information from their teachers or gain new knowledge themselves, then in the context of teaching, teachers are the ones imparting new knowledge to their students and shaping their minds in order to deepen their comprehension of particular subjects and circumstances. One of the main goals of education is to help students think critically, which requires teachers to employ a variety of techniques and approaches to help students think beyond what is possible for them to perceive. Teaching is not a simple task; there might be many challenges when you are in a traditional classroom setting. But as a facilitator, and as a second parent inside the class, you must have passion to continue what you are doing in the first place. You must always have reason to persevere in that field because in teaching we are not just imparting knowledge to our diverse students but also teaching has something to do with nurturing the learners’ capabilities to unleash their potentials and have a self growth and development. I also stated that all students are diverse, so as an educator that is teaching them, we must make something that could cater their differences, may it be on their learning styles or how they cope up with their classmates. We should be creative on the ways that we will be doing and also, we must make them feel that they are valued and supported on how they will acquire the learnings that we are imparting on them. As a teacher, we must also facilitate our students by making sure that all of them are actively listening to you, not just only listening but they are understanding the information given. With that it will be easier for them to acquire the new learning that the teacher has for them. Of course, we can encounter students that are having a hard time to cope up with the lessons, if that happens, we have this remedial program that could cater the needs of that particular student, that program will help them to understand the things and lessons that are hard for them. Teaching is transferring knowledge to every learner and also molding their minds into a bigger picture. To make them understand what are the happenings on their surroundings as well as nurturing their minds into their own development. With that process we must also stood by their side supporting them, if they made mistakes, we must encourage them to do better next time and not drag them down. We must not discourage them, and with that they will be willing to listen and participate with whatever you are teaching them. It is important for us educators to understand what is the real context in teaching so that we can not just only impart knowledge on our students but also help then to nourish their potentials into something bigger that could help then in the future. One of the ways for a learner to learn is by doing something that a teacher imparts to them or a learning by doing process. With that process a student must be interactive as they can for them to meet the objectives that we prepared for them. By an interaction and interactive skills that they have they can be able to do activities that a teacher’s have for them and also, they will be able to have a good relationship with their classmates and also to have a conducive learning inside the classroom. Of course, a teacher must play an important role with this, such as facilitating the classroom, observe the students’ behavior and interactions with each other and ensuring that each student is actively learning. With that skills that they have, we can notice the learnings that they acquire. In addition to that, as a facilitator inside the class, we must set goals for our students such as we must encourage all the students to interact with each other and to have a good relationship while learning. Because the more they interact with one another they will learn while having fun, and as a result, the students will learn more efficiently. Becoming acquainted with one another will also improve the students’ interactions because it will make working together easier for them and increase their learning. The next goal is to teach every student the skills necessary to grow their knowledge and the lessons they have learned by interacting and cooperating with one another. Each student has a unique learning style, as we already know, and some students prefer to complete some schoolwork alone. However, this philosophy emphasizes and promotes the belief that a student learns more effectively when he interacts with others and this idea is supported by the teaching philosophy: Progressivism, whereas that philosophy also suggest that students work in groups to learn cooperation and social works. This just emphasize the idea that a student can learn his or her best when collaborating themselves to others. Last goal that I can give is that it helps the students to express themselves with others and to enhance also their communication skills. Expressing themselves is one of the most important things to learn because expressing yourselves, your ideas, thoughts and understanding is giving you a chance to be heard and with that our knowledge will not be useless. Also, the communication skills are very essential because how can we collaborate with others if we, ourselves, don’t know how to communicate, therefore with this philosophy it will enhance your communication skills as well as on how we can interact with one another inside the classroom. With these skills and goals that we have set for our students, these will help them to acquire knowledge or to properly learn. This will not just give them enhancement about their skills but to also fostering their knowledge by those set goals. All of the interactive activities, outputs and projects will play a big part for this philosophy. Group activities such as role plays, reporting, research, etc. will help the students to collaborate and share their ideas, thoughts with each other. With these activities, it will practice and enhance their skills to interact with one another and also by doing these outputs they could share ideas and thoughts about the certain topic that will give to them. Also, with these collaborative activities it will foster their differences when it in comes to their perspective because having a diverse perspective is very challenging but working it together will be easier for them to cope up. We can also build their creativity while performing those activities, for example a teacher gave his/her students a full length play activity, by cooperating altogether they can all combine their creativity by the means of acting, in terms of making a props, by narrating and such. In addition to that, by being interactive a student will also improve his/her ability when it comes to a problem-solving case because this philosophy also focuses on the critical thinking of a student. By practicing all of that it could lead to effective outcomes whereas the goals and expectations of the teacher is meet. Furthermore, interactiveness can develop a good connection between the students and can build a sense of belongingness with one another by supporting every individual and that results to a positive environment. These activities, which are applicable in a real teaching environment, can help students achieve the goals that the teacher has set for them. However, achieving these goals is unlikely to be simple enough, so the teacher needs to develop a strategy and methods for handling any barriers that may occur. The teacher should provide a plan A to Z so that when the first plan is not successful enough then he or she can proceed to another plan and so on. It is important that a teacher is prepared in terms of circumstances like that because it really happens in the reality in classroom set up. It is very essential to meet the goals and expectations you have set for your students because in this way we will be able to see if your teaching approaches is effectively done or not. It could also reflect to you, on the teaching strategies that you have made. All of these goals are what I am going to implement in this philosophy, by applying all of these it will be a full of learning inside the classroom that could help the students to develop their understanding and being interactive as they can and could improve their learning styles.Being inside the classroom makes the students’ feels a lot of emotions. There’s some student that will come with a smile on their faces and ready to face the battle at school, there’s also a student that will come with a lot of baggage with them, may it be at their houses or on their personal selves. I just want to imply that all of the students that we will going to meet inside the classroom faces a lot of situations in their lives. Therefore, we, educators, should think of the ways and strategies on how can they still learn even though they face different circumstances in their own lives. This philosophy emphasizes the way on how each student will be interactive in performing inside the classroom. Based on the given activities, tasks and outputs that a student will going to make that focuses on how they will be interactive as they can, a classroom must feel conducive to learning that will make a student to participate on their own. As a facilitator, we must encourage them to join and make them feel that they are heard in everything that they will going to suggest. Given the fact that they will be actively performing in these activities suggested in this philosophy, it is inevitable to not encounter a lot of difficulties while performing this in the actual set up. As I’ve said above, our students have a lot of situations that they are facing and aside from that, some students are not agree with a student-centered set up because they feel something different with that. And that is just one of the influences that will hindrance this philosophy, the student’s interest when it comes to learning and learning styles. To prevent that, we must motivate them, we must make them realize the importance of this philosophy and its focuses in terms of their learning. And in addition to that, since this is a collaborative learning set-up, their peers inside the classroom will also make an impact on their learning, if others are not comfortable at first to share with everyone their works, ideas on specific project, we can make a discussion just between their group of friends at first and after that, we can let them express their works with everyone, and with that, little by little we can observe the progress that they could make. Since they are all different when it comes also to their learning styles, we must accommodate each of them with various activities that could cater their differences in learning, we can also apply different approaches in teaching that could will meet their needs. We just have to make sure that our classroom environment will be inclusive to all the students, to make them feel comfortable in learning and to engage themselves in different activities that we will provide for them despite of their diverse background when it comes to learning. The process of becoming a teacher is not easy. You will face a lot of obstacles in your way to meet the success that you wanted to fulfill. And of course, as a teacher, to be an effective teacher you must have to set goals for yourself. These goals will signify your way of teaching, on how you will communicate effectively to your students, co-teachers and staffs in the school. The first goal is on how you will be able to manage the classroom, this will include your strategies on how you will address the needs of your diverse students and on how you will execute a conducive learning inside the classroom. The next goal is the effective communication with your students, because how will you perform all of these strategies and techniques if you don’t practice your communication skills, if the way on how you communicate with your students is not effective? It is one of the most important things to enhance as a teacher, the effective communication to our students and colleagues because with this we can be able to know the way on how we can support our students with their needs. Next goal that we must accomplish is our strategic competence, we must be able to think right away the ways that we will make in terms of the circumstances that we will face along the way of teaching. We must foster our skills with that especially in this philosophy, this emphasizes the interactiveness of the students and when we notice some issues regarding that, as a teacher, it is essential to have already a strategy that we can use to address those problems. The next goal is to make sure the students’ engagement in all of our activities and tasks that they are required to do. We must enhance the teaching approaches and medium that we will going to use for our students to be actively participating on the things that we will going to provide for them. Since this is a student-centered learning, it is important that they are engage on the activities that are given.
Last goal to accomplish is the development of yourself as an effective teacher. Evenm though you achieved to be an educator, that does not stop there, you must still make a development of yourself as a teacher, pursue any opportunities that you will meet along the way enable for you to grow as a more professional teacher. Foster your knowledge and skills so that it could not just go in waste. There’s a lot of learning opportunities along the way of teaching and you must grab that, emphasize the development of yourself as a professional teacher, in that way, you can improve your teaching methods that you can be able to use in your teaching experience. This will not just be beneficial for you but also to your students as well. Be humble always and express your knowledge to others, impart to your students the importance of education. These goals are very important, and this will also help you to meet the needs of your students. In essence, we must understand that education is the keystone in everything such as personal growth, our knowledge when it comes to our surroundings and all the moral that we are learning inside the classroom. This will lead us to success and fulfilment in our lives as an individual’s living in our own dreams.
Learning refers to the act and the process of acquiring information, knowledge, skills, experience and understanding. It is the most crucial part of humans to be able to develop and improve life such as Physical Well-being for learning helps students develop their physical well- being by understanding the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through exercise, proper nutrition, and self-care. Emotional Well-being teaches students how to manage their emotions, cope with stress, and build resilience. In Social Relationship learning teaches students to develop effective communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build meaningful connections with others. And Career and Professional life learning teaches students also to provides them with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue their desired careers and excel in their professional lives. Learning also means allowing students to have critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and continuous self-improvement or in short Intellectual improvement. Others aspect are Personal Growth, Financial Aspect, Environmental Well-being, Spiritual, Personal Values and Ethics and other life aspects. And through learning one’s life can reach its desired potential to live a fulfilling life. In a learning situation, it is crucial for students to actively engage in various activities to acquire knowledge while also creating a positive and conducive learning environment. Both teachers and students play important roles in this process. Teachers facilitate learning by providing instructions and fostering discussions, while students actively participate and collaborate with their peers. Through collaborative tasks, problem-based learning, group projects, and other activities, students can demonstrate their progress and receive feedback on their performance. With the guidance of teachers, students apply what they have learned by practicing and applying it to the tasks assigned to them. This approach ensures that learning is evident and development is present at an immediate level. By actively participating in the learning process and applying their knowledge, students can enhance their understanding and skills, leading to a more effective and meaningful learning experience. When students actively participate in the learning process and apply their knowledge, they have the opportunity to enhance their understanding and skills, resulting in a more effective and meaningful learning experience. Active participation involves engaging with the material, asking questions, and actively seeking out information. It goes beyond passive listening and instead encourages students to take an active role in their own learning. By actively participating, students are able to connect new information with their prior knowledge, making it easier for them to understand and retain the material. In this way learning is evident and development is present.Teaching means imparting knowledge and skills meaning the teacher is sharing and transferring an expertise and abilities to the students through training, educating a particular subject which allows learners to acquire knowledge, improve skills and develop their strength. Teaching also refers to a passion in helping students to learn in an established setting that allows students to actively participate in learning and develop their own understanding which implies that teachers create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel motivated and empowered to learn and feel support both academically and emotionally and having a safe space where students can express themselves and seek help when they need. And teaching means putting thought and effort into designing instructional activities that align with curriculum objectives and cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of students at the same time designing lessons that are structured, coherent, and interesting for them. Ultimately, teaching means a great dedication and care on students' overall educational experience through dedication and care, creating an environment where students thrive, enjoy in learning, and reach their full potential. It also means cultivating a love for learning, provides guidance, support, and fosters important skills and values. And teaching means bringing impact on students' growth, development, and success. As a teacher, facilitating the process of imparting knowledge and skills is by adopting various strategies and approaches to create a positive and effective learning environment. This refers to creating first a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment means establishing a space where every student feels valued, respected, and safe. It involves fostering a sense of belonging and acceptance among all students, regardless of their background, abilities, or differences. Then Understanding the individual strengths, interests, and learning needs of which means recognizing and appreciating the unique qualities and characteristics that each student brings to the classroom. It involves taking the time to get to know your students on a personal level, understanding their strengths, passions, and areas of interest. And once all of the students strengths and needs are understood, as a teacher starts employing a range of approaches, such as visual aids, hands-on activities, technology integration, or cooperative learning, to cater to different learning styles and abilities. Also modify materials, such as texts or assignments, to make them more accessible and relevant to students with diverse backgrounds or learning challenges. Next with that, incorporate discussions, group work, hands-on activities, and real-world applications to create dynamic and interactive learning experiences. Through discussions, students have the opportunity to express their thoughts, share ideas, and engage in meaningful dialogue with their peers. Group work that fosters collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills. After that, giving feedback by acknowledging students' strengths, recognizing their positive efforts and accomplishments to boost their self-confidence and motivation at the same time provides specific suggestions and strategies for students to enhance their understanding, refine their skills, and overcome challenges with their weaknesses and needed improvement. And help students understand that their abilities can be developed through dedication, hard work, and effective strategies. This mindset encourages students to approach learning with resilience and a willingness to take risks in learning. As a future English Teacher, Those future students under my management obtain comprehension skills enable individuals to understand and interpret written texts, it allow learners to learn new words, new meanings, and allow learners to use language appropriately, it also foster critical thinking by encouraging individuals to analyze, evaluate, and interpret information, and enable individuals to summarize the main ideas and key details of a text and most of all helps individuals make connections between the text and their own experiences, with other texts, and the world around them which has a great contribution to academic success and communication skills. Then students would also obtain critical thinking skills allowing students to evaluating the relevance and reliability of information, enable them to evaluate arguments, claims, and evidence, and identify and define problems, generate and evaluate potential solutions, make reasonable conclusions based on available information and lastly encourage individuals to think creatively and generate innovative ideas which imply that this skills play integral roles in various aspects of life perhaps in academic, career and community because it enables individuals to extract meaning, make connections, and engage with the material at a deeper level. The set Goals for my students is to have Reading Fluency, Comprehension Strategies, Writing Competence, Information literacy and Communicative Competence. This goals allow learners to succeed not just in academic performance and career but also in life. The activities I would implement to enhance reading fluency are Choral Reading where students read a text together in unison that builds confidence and promotes a sense of community then followed by Reading Theater where students have audio recordings of texts and have them follow along in the text while listening that helps students develop their listening comprehension and allows them to hear a fluent model of reading. And lastly for Ready Fluency is Timed Reading, students read a passage within a specific time limit which encourages them to read as smoothly and accurately as possible while maintaining a good pace. And for Comprehension Strategies, Using graphic organizers such as story maps, Venn diagrams, or cause and effect charts to help students visually organize information and make connections between different elements of the text or implement ask and answer method in different types of questions while reading. It stimulate critical thinking and deepen understanding of the text. For Writing Competence , implement a free writing technique where students can write without worrying about grammar or structure.
